Amazon Game Studios and Smilegate recently released popular MMORPGLost Arkin the West and players continue to discover hidden details, formulate ideal boss strategies, and create unique fan art inspired by the game. SomeLost Arkplayers have voiced their concerns over revealing character outfits, but Smilegate has just confirmed that it won’t be censoring such clothing.
Lost Arkwas released in North America last month and players are already reaching the maximum level and delving intoendgame content. In response to the backlash regarding revealingLost Arkoutfits throughout the campaign and endgame content,Lost Arklead Soomin Park confirmed changes will be made without the costumes being removed altogether. Because of how someLost Arkplayers feel about these wardrobe choices, the developer is changing which characters and outfits will be selected for marketing like in trailers and ads.

Beyond no longer promoting the revealing outfits ofLost Ark, Park also confirmed that the initialcharacter creationscreen will be altered to reveal female characters a little less. When asked about changing theLost Arkoutfits, Park stated that “we aren’t altering any of the original costumes from the game” which will continue to allow players who prefer these outfits to continue using them even if they’re less readily available. Smilegate is takingLost Arkfan feedback to create new outfit options that won’t be as revealing as existing options but will be additions rather than replacements.
Smilegate and Amazon Game Studios have also confirmed that gender-locked classes inLost Arkwill slowly be opened up to the other gender. This means that players will be able to create a maleLost Arkmageor female warrior in the near future which will make the world of Arkesia feel more inhabitable for fans who enjoy role-playing. The currentLost Arkclasses are closely linked to their character models “in terms of function and animation,” but the team is working to rectify this issue.
Although many of theLost Arkoutfits are revealinglike the ones fans have issues with, there are several others that cover characters up quite significantly. Smilegate’s confirmation of less revealing outfits coming to the MMO in the future will give players who aren’t comfortable with the current options more wardrobes to choose between. It’s currently unclear when these changes will be made toLost Arkbut because of its free-to-play nature, players who have voiced their concerns can return whenever the new outfits are added.
