ThePersonaseries has become a major smash hit in the West followingPersona 5’s release in 2017. The follow-up definitive edition-esque title,Persona 5 Royal, was a massive success as well, smashing numerous series sales records in both Europe and the US.
However, the West still isn’t getting some of the amazing collaborations that Japanese players see through companies back home. Recently, a Japanese bakery called Priroll announced its ownPersonathemed Christmas cake series that it will be rolling out ahead of this coming Holiday season.

OfficialPersonacollaborations may be few and far between over in the West, but Japan sees officialPersonacollaborations constantly from all sorts of brands and companies. Earlier this year, a perfume company called Primaniacs announced its own series ofPersona 5themed perfumeswhich included the characters fromPersona 5 Royalas well. Now, the Japanese bakery Priroll has begun its ownPersona 5collaboration, revealing 18 total Christmas cakes going on sale for around $50. The cakes are available for preorder now until November 25.
Importing a perishable Christmas cake to any country outside of Japan probably wouldn’t work out so well, so this Priroll collaboration is being kept in Japan. Though fans of thePersonaseries may be interested in importingthePersona 5 Royaltea blendsannounced not too long ago. Gin-Iro-Neko Tea Salon café teamed up with Atlus and P-Studio to create a blend for each Phantom Thief inPersona 5 Royal. Needless to say, that Phantom Thief tea blend and Christmas cake would probably make for quite the delicious combination.
It seems the West still has a ways to go before thePersonaseries is as big of a hit here as it is in Japan. English fans are still waiting on confirmation thatPersona 5 Scrambleis coming to the Westat all, though it may take even longer than some fans are expecting.Persona 5 Scrambleis the spinoff title developed Koei Tecmo that follows the Phantom Thieves on a new, Musou-styled adventure. The game released in February earlier this year in Japan, and its chances of getting an English localization in the near future seem slimmer and slimmer given the ongoing pandemic.
Unfortunately, it seems like Western fans may be waiting a while before we seePersona 5 Scramblein English, as Western release wasnot mentioned in Koei Tecmo’s financial reportat the end of October. Atlus has spoken about how difficult it has been for the company to record English voice over for its games in the West during the pandemic, so this is most likely affectingPersona 5 Scrambleas well. Though bothPersona 5andRoyalexceeded expectations here, it looks as if it’s going to take a lot more time for the West to get the samePersonarepresentation as Japan.
