A lot of Hoyoverse andHonkai Impactfans seem to be patiently waiting for more news about its upcoming turn-based role-playing gameHonkai: Star Rail. The developers have been a bit stingy with information about the title, only using majorgaming events like Gamescom 2022and Summer Game Fest last June as platforms to deliver important updates to its fans. Now, Hoyoverse has dropped a brand-new trailer forHonkai: Star Railthat features more of the game’s story and characters.

Honkai: Star Railwas first revealed by Hoyoverse back in October 2021. The shift of genre from action-RPG to turn-based likely came as a surprise for fans of bothHonkai ImpactandGenshin Impact. However, the Hoyoverse community was probably still excited about the title as it likely offered something refreshing and new, no matter how different the game genre was. What’s more, withHonkai: Star Railstill being part of theHonkai Impactuniverse, familiar characters are part of the title and will likely be given more focus in future story updates like the recently released trailer.

As part of Gamescom 2022’s Opening Night, Hoyoverse shared a new trailer video forHonkai: Star Rail. Titled the “Nightmare Trailer,” the footage shows one of the game’s characters, Dan Heng, experiencing a nightmare while onboard the Astral Express. Not much is revealed about the two distinct male characters in Dan’s nightmare. However, the narrator does mention the name “Jing Yuan.” For fans who have been followingHonkai: Star Rail’s 2nd closed betaleakers, they will likely recognize the white-haired man as Jing Yuan and the black-haired man as Blade. These two seem to be upcoming five-star characters that were revealed in the 2nd beta.

Unfortunately, Hoyoverse still seems interested in leaving its followers hanging with the recent trailer. Nothing new about the gameplay orHonkai: Star Rail’s official release datewas announced, which is likely what fans are hoping to know more about. The trailer does not even provide any context about Dan Heng’s nightmare, Jing Yuan, or Blade, leaving fans to speculate about how they are connected to the game’s story on their own.

Nevertheless,Hoyoverseis likely to reveal more information aboutHonkai: Star Railsoon. With the 2nd closed beta closing last June 2022, the devs have already probably received a lot of feedback to further improve the game before launch. Hopefully the fans will not have to wait too long, and thatHonkai: Star Railwill get an official release date sooner than later.
