Releasing today after months of build-up,Hitman 3will act as the final chapter of the World of Assassination trilogy, focusing on Agent 47’s attempts to take down an evil secret society known as Providence. The final entry in the saga looks to offer even more of the game’s seminal open-world sandbox chaos, as players traverse across a series of stunning locations and eliminate hard to reach targets.
It seems some are struggling to access the full scope ofHitman 3’sgameplay, however, withIO Interactivecurrently having some issues with its servers. While this doesn’t prevent players from accessing the title, its range of maps, and the online ranking system which allows players to complete challenges, it does mean many are currently unable to transfer their progress from prior entries in the series.

This is due to the company’s IOI account system being down, which prevents players from bringing over their previous data. The act of transferring this progress will also wipe any and all data currently associated with aHitman 3save, meaning most players want to ensure they do this prior to getting started on the new title’s six locations. As such, some players are frustrated as they want to verify they maintain their progress while proceeding to enjoy IO’s newest adventure.
For those currently struggling to access their IOI accounts, IO Interactive has issued a statement on Twitter that assures fans they’re currently working to resolve the issue. “We’re hard at work on getting IOI Account back online to enable progression carryover,” the studio claims on the social media site, asking players to “press F5 on Twitter” as the team will be sure to update players as soon as it’s up and running. Hopefully, the wait won’t be too long. In the meantime, players can begin to experiment withthe various new locationsavailable within the title, even if their experience won’t be maintained after the progress transfer.
As forHitman 3,the game acts as an expansion of the previous two games, with players able to bring maps over from 2018’sHitman 2and its 2016 predecessor to create the definitiveHitmanexperience. The game also adds six new locations, includingthe murder mystery-focused Dartmoor map, the neon-lit Chongqing level, and a towering Dubai skyscraper which Agent 47 has to access via a cinematic HALO jump. The title will close out the studio’s World of Assassination Trilogy, making way for the team to begin working on a licensedJames Bondgame titledProject 007.
Hitman 3is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
