Many gamers tried games likeDark SoulsandSekiroand wished they had a more modern or futuristic setting.Hellpointdelivers this gaming experience and does a pretty good job of giving players the challenging gameplay found inSouls-like games. It feels a bit unpolished at times, notably the difficulty of some boss fights; however, there’s plenty of fun to be had in this sci-fi-themedSoulsclone.

Since this game is set in the future on a space station orbiting a black hole, the choices for distance weapons are a little more advanced than bows and crossbows. InHellpointthe choice in distance weapons, except for a few throwing weapons, is between firearms and catalysts. This list ranksall the firearms inHellpointfrom worst to best.

8Mouth Of Filth

The Mouth of Filthserves the role of a shotgunin the game’s arsenal. This might make some players want to use the Mouth of Filth for close encounters. This can be a serviceable firearm, but it is also the lowest-ranked firearm in the game.

Players wanting a short-range, wide-angle firearm should get the next one on this list. Theenergy per shot is highwith the Mouth of Filth, but the damage isn’t any better than the other guns on this list. The damage-over-time inflicted by the Mouth of Filth is not very high, and it doesn’t seem to fully stack with multiple shots.

7Daemon Cannon

The Daemon Cannon issimilar to the Mouth of Filth but better. The stats for the Daemon Cannon and Mouth of Filth are almost identical. The only differences are the amount of energy used per shot, the type of damage dealt, and the Foresight requirements.

The Mouth of Filth does a small amount of physical damage that the Daemon Cannon does not; however, the extra cost in energy for this small amount of physical damage is a poor trade-off. The Daemon Cannon alsogains the ability to stagger enemiesmuch sooner than the Mouth of Filth.

6Artillery OTX

There is very little difference between the Artillery P17 and the Artillery OTX. The main difference between the two is the type of damage they deal. The Artillery P17 caused induction damage, the Artillery OTX causes radiation damage. The amount of damage per shot is the same.

The player should use whichever firearmgives the best advantage; if the area has a lot of Thespians the best choice is the P17, but an area filled with living, non-underworld, enemiesis where the OTX can shine. The OTX can give a boost to stamina regeneration, and eventually acts as a flamethrower - though the damage is still radiation damage.

5Artillery P17

The Artillery P17 is the other grenade launcher in the game andthe better of the two. The area of effect for the grenades, and their damage, is only slightly better than the grenades launched from the Railgun. It’s a common occurrence to fire this weapon at a group of enemies and only have one or two enemies get hit by the explosion.

The Artillery P17 doesn’t use as much energy as the Mouth of Filth; however, the damage potential per shot to energy ratio is unfavorable compared to the firearms further down this list. The accuracy of this weapon is also far from ideal. Players need to factor in enemy movement when aiming due to the low-velocity shots. The Flamer ability turns this weapon into acontinuously firing flamethrower with low energy consumption.

4Marine Rifle

The Marine Rifle is simplya reskin of the vanilla Railgun. Both of these weapons have identical stats; however, the Railgun gets one more ability than the Marine Rifle. Over time the Marine Rifle gets the Light Grenade Launcher, Health Boost, and Surface Light Damage abilities (among others), but itdoesn’t get the Energy Influx ability.

Fans of the Aliens franchise might not care about the loss of the Energy Influx ability. This weapon is a recreation of the Pulse Rifle carried by the Colonial Marines in the movieAliens.

3Railgun

The Railgun, in one form or another, iswhat many players use with their firearm build. The reasons for this are many; for starters, this firearm uses the least amount of energy per shot than the other firearms on this list. It doesn’t do as much damage as the other weapons inHellpoint, but the damage-to-energy ratio is a lot better than the other gun types.

Finally, this weapondeals energy-type damage. none of the enemies inHellpointare particularly strong versus energy damage, and Daemons are weak against this damage type. This weapon also weighs far less than other firearms. The remaining firearms on this list are variants of the Railgun.

2Kickstarter Railgun

This Kickstarter Railgun is a variant of the Railgun that can beobtained at the start of the game. It has slightly better stats than the base Railgun, but not enough that the player will notice. The best aspect of this weapon is that players wanting to use a firearm-based build can use the second-best firearmfrom the beginning.

To unlock this weapon the player needs to interact with the terminal close to the initial spawn point; it will be on the left after the corridor. When prompted by the terminal to enter a code, the player needs to enter 642017 - this will unlock the Kickstarter Railgun, Cross Shield, and Linked Espadon.

1Entropic Railgun

This variant of the Railgun is, inarguably, the best firearm inHellpoint. This firearm is the reason to try a firearm build. The Entropic Railgun deals Entropy type damage rather than the energy type of the base Railgun. This makes it weak against Daemons and machines, but strong against living creatures.

When the Entropic Railgun gains the ability tolaunch entropy grenadesand create entropy fields is when this weapon begins to shine. The grenades deal more damage than the standard grenades fired by the P17 and OTX. The range of this weapon is slightly higher than the standard Railgun. This gun, combined with a melee weapon that scales with Foresight or Cognition, creates a build that is dangerously close to being overpowered.
