The following article contains spoilers for theHaloseries.

A full four weeks after its premiere, theHaloseries is finally starting to take form, and its latest teaser trailer is definitely catered toward fans who were missing the games' FPS action because a full-on Covenant fight is coming to Paramount Plus next week.

The first couple ofHaloepisodes caught the ire of many gamers and failed to wow critics, as many found the massive differences between video game source material and the show to be a turnoff. Nevertheless, since episode three, the series gained some brief momentum despite or because of Master Chief showing his fully naked body. At a time whenHalo Infinitegets beaten byMaster Chief Collectionin numbers of active players, the TV show look like the safer way to carry gamers into the current title’s season 2.

In order to do that,Halois finally ready to bring out the big guns, as next week’s episode will feature its first true battle with the Covenant since the premiere’s showcase of Master Chief’s combat skills. The trailer picks up right afterHalo’s latest episode, which saw Master Chief and Dr. Halsey find the second Forerunner artifact of great significance in the show, while at the same time examining fellow Spartan Kai-125’s own arc of disobedience after she also removed the implants that restricted her emotions. Other characters popping up in this footage are Soren and Kawn, although the these two’s story currently seems to lack the same clear sense of direction that’s been given to the rest of the cast. Conversely, Makee returns after being absent in week three, and it looks like she wants to ensure the Banshee fleet takes the discovered artifact.

Four weeks in, at least it’s now possible for gamers to decide ifHalois worth watching or not, though the decisive element to make that call is probably how one feels aboutParamount’s new take on Master Chief, who is nothing like his video game counterpart. Still, the past twoHaloepisodes have made a better point at convincing viewers that the show could realize its potential later down the line.

With that in mind, it’s puzzling to thinkHaloleft out fantastic tricks and characters like Sergeant Avery Johnson, regardless of the plot leaving the doors open for his arrival later on. Perhaps it’ll happen in season 2,just likeHalo Infiniteis doing with its content.
