Gran Turismo 7released the first major update since its launch on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 last week. The newest patch, which does not addressGran Turismo’s excessive microtransaction system, includes several additions from a content perspective and also fixing issues and bugs that were reported on by the dedicated player base.
Along with a myriad of fixes to problematic bugs, the Music Replay system received a large expansion to its database. Polyphony Digital added a total of 64 songs toGran Turismo 7, increasing players' choices when adding music back during replays and providing an enhanced gameplay experience.

Additions to the game include a wind direction and wind speed indicator, giving racingfans even more info on the driving conditions, allowing them to prepare for the roads ahead as they pick up top speed in one of the400-plus Gran Turismo cars. The patch notes released are lengthy, but in depth, and fans of the franchise remain hopeful of the many changes on the horizon. The patch appears to be quite heavy, coming in at roughly 916MB on the PlayStation 5, but with it comes a major improvement to multiple aspects of the game.
The main fix covers issues with theGran Turismo 7Menu Booksnot completing properly. This issue prevented players from progressing through the core single-player mode and, as a result, unlocking features and tracks. A number of reports from players of this issue came up, though the patch notes state it is a “very rare issue.” There’s a fix for a problem with one of the game’s trophies, Rain Royalty, which would not trigger despite players fulfilling the requirements, and has been a known issue since the game’s release.
The fixes in the update also cover small but troublesome bugs across all states of the game, including issues with the multiplayer mode, steering wheel concerns, and application errors. The full patch notes include tweaks to car settings, GT Auto functions, livery editor, brand invitations, and Showcase.Gran Turismo 7’s best and worst featuresappear to be either fixed or slightly tweaked, and racing fanatics of the game are ecstatic with all the changes made in the early patch.
The notes also highlight a bug with engine swaps, which is the first time the studio has acknowledged this feature in any capacity. The update is now available to all players, and it will be required to apply it before all the game’s features can be accessed.
