Genshin Impactplayers want more characters in the roster to have the ability to control the Geo element. There are seven elements in the world of Teyvat, all of which have their strengths and weaknesses. The game’s whole combat system revolves around combining these elements in order to trigger reactions that have various effects.
While some elemental reactions like Vaporize provide a simple damage amplifier, others can completely immobilize a group of enemies. The addition of Dendro back inGenshin Impactupdate 3.0 has completely changed the character meta as it introduced eight new elemental reactions.

A post made by Reddit user BioticFire has pointed out the fact that with the recent announcement of the new character Kirara, the game will have more Dendro characters than Geo users inGenshin Impactversion 3.7. Many comments claim that this is absurd considering that Dendro arrived back in August 2022 while Geo has been part of the game since its release. The last character that joined the roster with a Geo Vision was the four-star unit Yunjin back in update 2.4. One of the reasons why HoYoverse avoids adding Geo users to the game could be the fact that most of them are not viable in the current meta. This element can trigger only one reaction, Crystallize, which equips the player with a shield if they attack enemies that are affected by Pyro, Electro, Hydro, or Cryo.
While Crystallize can be useful at times, it’s probably the weakest elemental reaction in the game at the moment. None of the newly added Dendro elemental reactions can interact with Geo which made this element feel even more isolated. At the moment, the only S-tier character with this element is probably Liyue’s Archon Zhongli. However, his strength lies in a stacked kit that can deal tons of damage whileproviding the strongest shield inGenshin Impact.
The second most popular Geo character is probably the five-star DPS Arataki Itto. However, in order for Itto to compete withother DPS units inGenshin Impact, players need to surround him with a specific team composition that has at least two more characters that share the same element.
Over the last couple of months, players have been asking HoYoverse to rework this element. AninterestingGenshin Impactfan-made concepthas proposed that the reworked version of Crystalize should provide additional buffs to the whole team based on the element it interacts with. However, it’s highly unlikely that HoYoverse will make such significant changes before the next major update.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
