Genshin Impacthas a very tight update schedule with each one lasting around six weeks. After months of speculation, the current version 3.0 has finally introduced the new major region named Sumeru along with its new characters.
Before each update arrives, developer HoYoverse releases a live stream event that reveals all the upcoming content. A credibleGenshin Impactleaker named Plusleleaks has apparently revealed the release date for the upcoming version 3.1 live stream event.

The leaker claims that the event will be held on September 17, and it could be a part of this year’s Tokyo Game Show. In their last live stream event, developer HoYoverse already confirmed thatGenshin Impactversion 3.1will arrive on September 28 which is one week earlier than usual. In fact, the three first Sumeru updates (3.0, 3.1, and 3.2) will be one week shorter in order to compensate for the delay that happened during update 2.6. Numerous fans in the comment section claim that they are not even halfway through the current world quests which seem enormous in comparison to previous major regions.
Making 3.0 one week shorter will allow 3.1 to arrive right on time forGenshin Impact’s second anniversarywhich should include some unique events. Players are hoping that HoYoverse has learned from their mistakes from last year’s anniversary in which they gave out a total of 10 pulls as anniversary rewards. After receiving a major backlash, players were given additional pulls as well as a unique glider.
Recent rumors have been hinting that this year’s anniversary will include a sign-in event with various rewards for each day. The upcoming live stream will also go deeper into the three characters that have already been announced: Candace, Cyno, and Nilou. All of them are confirmed for the upcoming update, and they will be spread over the two banner cycles.Cyno is a new Electro polearm characterwho is expected to arrive in the first part of the update.
According to recent beta leaks, he will be a new DPS character inGenshin Impactwith a play style that is very reminiscent of Razor and Xiao. Nilou will probably be a new support or sub-DPS character whose play style revolves around triggering anew elemental reaction named Bloom. She apparently has the ability to turn the Dendro Cores into Bountiful Cores which explode faster and have a larger area of effect.
Genshin Impactis now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
