Even thoughGenshin Impactrevolves around its anime-inspired playable characters, skins have never been a big part of the game. The first costumes were added to the game back in Summer 2021 during the fan-favorite Golden Apple Archipelago event.Since then, the game introduced two new skins for Ningguang and Keqing during the Lantern Rite festival inGenshin ImpactVersion 2.4. A new leak reveals that two popular characters might receive skins in the foreseeable future.RELATED:Genshin Impact Fan Creates Pixelated Raiden Shogun Build ShowcaseOne of the most credibleGenshin Impactleakers, Ubatcha1, took to Twitter to claim thatGenshin ImpactVersion 2.8 will most likely introduce two new skins for Fischl and Diluc. Apparently, the ongoing beta phase for update 2.8 contains files names that hint towards new costumes for the two characters. According to another leaker named Dimbreath, the new skins will have unique special effects. Unlike thepreviously releasedGenshin Impactcostumes, the new ones will apparently be the first to have a five-star rarity.

Both Diluc and Fischl were once consideredS-tier characters in the respective role. However, with the release of newer and stronger characters, they’ve dropped in the power rankings. The new skins could definitely increase the pick rates for both characters, especially if they include special effects during combat. Diluc is a Pyro claymore character with a simple fighting style that requires players to fill as many Normal Attacks as possible between his Searing Onslaught strikes and use his Elemental Burst whenever it’s available.

Fischl also has a fairly simple kit which is similar to therecently releasedGenshin Impactcharacter Yae Miko. One of the main reasons why Miko’s released seemed underwhelming is because Fischl can do a similar job on the battlefield while having a cheaper and lower rarity. Fischl’s main job on the field is to activate her Elemental Skill which summons her friend Oz who deals Electro damage even when she gets swapped out, similar to Yae Miko’s totems.

The upcomingGenshin ImpactVersion 2.7will most likely be one of the shortest updates yet due to the three-week delay. However, the new beta leaks reveal that 2.8 will bring loads of content. Update 2.8 is expected to be the last update of the whole Inazuma arc meaning that players can expect a great finale before a new major nation arrives. Ubatcha1 has also revealed that 2.8 will bring a small island which fits HoYoverse’s pattern of adding new terrain every other update.

Genshin Impactis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development.
