FortniteChapter 3 Season 4 has arrived, and a mysterious chrome liquid is spreading across the Battle Island. Like every newFortniteSeason, 4 brings sweeping changes to Epic Games' genre-defining Battle Royale. Some of the most exciting of these changes are the new weapons and unvaulted classics that players can now access.
There are twonew weapons inFortniteChapter 3 Season 4, both chrome-themed and sporting a very unusual mechanic. Additionally, several old weapons have been unvaulted, giving players a chance to rediscover past favorites and explore new options.

The New Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
The two new weapons inFortniteChapter 3 Season 4 are the EvoChrome Shotgun and the EvoChrome Burst Rifle. Thesechrome-infected weaponshave a unique upgrade feature that hasn’t been seen inFortnitesince the Sideways Rifle and Minigun. However, instead of needing Cube Monster Parts or Gold Bars to upgrade, the new EvoChrome weapons only require damage.
Players will only be able to find EvoChrome weapons in Chrome Chests, a new kind of loot container that is fairly easy to find in any area that has been affected by Chrome, such as Cloudy Condos, Herald’s Sanctum, Lustrous Lagoon, or Shimmering Shrine. Alternatively, players can create their own Chrome Chests by using aChrome Splash itemon a normal chest.
All EvoChrome weapons start at the Uncommon rarity level and will upgrade steadily as players deal damage to other players, walls, orFortnite’s hostile NPCs. The top level that an EvoChrome weapon can reach is Mythic, though it’s not yet known just how much damage is needed to get that far.
The Unvaulted Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4
Fortnite’s arsenal changes drastically with each season, with some weapons being sent to the Vault and others being unvaulted.FortniteChapter 3 Season 4 is no exception, and several classic weapons have been both unvaulted and upgraded:
As well as being unvaulted, the Rapid-Fire SMG now has a Mythic quality version which is only available from Reality Saplings. Similarly,the Prime Shotgunalso has a new Mythic version that can be obtained through Reality Saplings. Finally, the Suppressed Submachine Gun has returned from the Vault with a pair of new rarity tiers in Epic and Legendary, giving fans of the stealthy SMG a reason to keep using it as higher tier weapons become available.
