Now that Midas' doomsday device has changed the battle royale map forever,Fortniteis offering new challenges each week for players to aspire towards. This week, players are tasked with using the whirlpool near The Fortilla, but as usual, the challenge doesn’t fully explain how to use it.

FortniteSeason 3 sees much of the map submerged, and with that change comes a whole host of water like features. The whirlpool at the Fortilla is one such feature, but using it requires players to do something which most would find counter-intuitive to survival.

Of course, the player can’t use the whirlpool andcomplete the Season 3 challengewithout finding it, but thankfully this is incredibly easy to do given its visibility from the battle bus. That said, it may be wise to forestall this challenge until later into the match, as many other players may be attempting to complete it as well.

The Fortilla is one of the many points of interest found on the map, so players attempting to complete this challenge should drop as close to it as possible. The whirlpool itself can be found on the outside of the ring of islands that make upthe Fortilla, to the northeast a bit. The whirlpool even shows up on the map as a small circle in the water. The player should be able to drop in onto or near this if they manage to avoid other players also trying to complete the challenge.

After landing in the water, players need simplyswim into the center of the whirlpool. Doing so will not only complete the challenge, but also rocket the player skyward, allowing them to effectively redeploy in a more advantageous spot. Because of this mechanic, it is generally safe to go for this challenge straight away, but it is still wise to be wary at all times. As challenges go this is certainly one of the easier ones, but players would be forgiven for not finding it instinctual to jump into a whirlpool in the middle of the ocean. Nonetheless, that is the method required for completing this challenge.

MoreFortnitechallenges will become available as the weeks progress, and players wanting to fill out their battle passes will need to be diligent in completing the all. It may also be wise to keep an eye out for secret quests like thewar between teddies and gnomes from season 2.

Fortniteis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
