Fire Emblemrecently released a trailer for the last wave of the expansion pass, the 4th Wave, alsoreferred to as Fell Xenologue. From what Nintendo has announced so far, it’s known that this wave will include a brand new story, brand new classes, and, most interestingly, new units that players can take control of on the battlefield.

These new playable characters include brand new characters as well as characters in the main story who were previously unusable enemy units. This will surely bethe most interesting DLCfrom the amount of new content so far, and it’s on the way to being released on June 07, 2025.
5Madeline / Marni
In the original story of Engage, Marni is an antagonist in the story. Beingpart of the Four Houndsalongside Zephia, Griss, and Mauvier, she posed a huge threat to the player whenever she was on the battlefield. In the alternative universe that the Fell Xenologue DLC takes place in, she goes by the name of Madeline, as part of the Four Wings – the counterpart of the Four Hounds. Compared to her original counterpart, her outfit is blue instead of purple/pink.
She will be usable as a unit in the DLC and, as players know already, she is a tanky unit with a high defense that hits hard as she’s classed as a General. She is quite adept with Axes as her main weapon so she will be a great outlet on the battlefield to tank as many hits as needed.

4Gregory / Griss
In this alternative universe of theFire Emblem Engageworld, Griss, a member of the antagonist group Four Hounds, is referred to as Gregory and actually joins the Four Wings with their mission of protecting the siblings Nel and Neil, two brand new characters. Even though, appearance-wise, they’re almost identical, one big difference between this universe’s Gregory and Griss is their opposing personalities. While Gregory is shy and fears pain, Griss is outgoing and a masochist.
Thanks to this DLC, fans will finally be able to try out this character who was kept as only an enemy in the original story, not deviating from his loyalty to Zephia. Gregory is a unit with great magical growth, fighting in the Sage class. This class allows him not only to use spells to attack, but also to use staffs to heal allies. His mystical powers will be great to use on the battlefield to obliterate his enemies.

3Zelestia / Zephia
Zephia is one of the main antagonists throughoutFire Emblem Engageand the leader of the Four Hounds, a group set on reviving and serving the Fell Dragon. She is introduced in the alternative universe as Zelestia, a character that’s part of the Four Wings. Going from an important antagonist to one of the player’s main allies is a great shift for her character and it is surely going to be interesting to witness how she interacts with Alear.

Zephia and her counterpart, Zelestia, are bothpart of the Manakate race, a descendant of the Mage Dragons to be specific. Due to that, she possesses her very own unique class, named Melusine. This class is very similar to Ivy’s Lindwurm and allows her to use both tomes and swords as weapons. It is, in fact, one of the new classes that the players will have available to use, but, unfortunately, will probably only be limited to Zelestia.
2Nil
Nil is one of the two newly introduced characters in the Wave 4 of the DLC. He is the younger twin sibling of Nel, his older sister, and lacks the powers that she possesses, making him feel lesser compared to her. It is stated in the trailer that almost all Fell Dragon children eventually lose their twin siblings, which will be interesting for his character as he’s supposed to be the weaker one of the two and, thus, less likely to survive. Despite that, he loves and supports his sister.
His starting class is that of the Fell Child. Each version of the Fell Child class is a bit different compared to the others, depending on the character. For Nil, this class allows him to wield Axes. In the artwork released by Nintendo as well as the trailer, he is seen wielding an axe of the name of Revanche.

1Nel
Nel is definitely the most interesting addition to come with the Fell Xenalogue DLC. Indeed, she is Nil’s older twin sister and possesses great power. Alongside her brother, Alear, and the Four Wings, she is set on traveling the continent of Elyos to collect all 7 bracelets.
Like her brother, Nil, her starting class is also the Fell Child class, but a bit different. This class allows her to use lances, unlike her brother, who specializes in axes. Noticeably, however, she has a very intriguing ability that turns her into a dragon. She can accomplish this by using Fell Spark. Nel is the first playable character known to be able to make use of this ability, which is reminiscent of the Manakate class in olderFire Emblemtitles. She will surely be fun for players to try out and a powerful asset on the battlefield.
