Far Cry 6is filled with Easter eggs to other Ubisoft titles. There’s astrong reference toFar Cry 3at the end of the game, there are references to Pagan Min and Kyrat ofFar Cry 4throughout the game, and there’s even one ofFar Cry 5’s bliss plants in oneFC6mission. Outside this particular franchise, though, there’s another related to Ubisoft’sAssassin’s Creedseries, and it is leading players to their death.
As many know,Assassin’s Creedhas been running for quite some time. The first game was released in 2007 and the most recent entry in the franchise,Valhalla, was released just last year. Despite some serious shifts in style and tone from early games to more recent entries, there are some things that have remained the same. Indeed, theLeap of Faithis iconic to the franchise, seeing the Assassin dive, flip, and land safely in a pile of hay no matter how high up they are.

InAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, Eivor is taught how this supposedly works from Hytham, but no one teachesFar Cry 6’s Dani Rojas. Still, at one point in the game, players can find themselves on a ledge with a pile of hay beneath them, as an eagle screech can be heard in the background. ForAssassin’s Creedplayers, this is strong conditioning and a signal to perform the Leap of Faith, but for players doing it as Dani Rojas, they are jumping to their death.
Several clips have been posted online, with this Easter egg being first reported by Kotaku, but they all end the same way. Dani Rojas is not an Assassin, and a Leap of Faith doesn’t work inFar Cry 6. Sure, with all of the Easter eggs in the game, Ubisoft could have made it work here with this pile of hay, but it’s funnier that it doesn’t.
This obviously led to some strong discussion amongFar Cry 6fans. Many were quick to joke about it, citingStar Wars’ “it’s a trap”quote or joking about the “faith” in this Leap of Faith being misplaced. Others were quick to point it out as a missed opportunity for agoodFar Cry 6trophy/achievement, with suggest names being such as “Splat!” or “Requiescat in Pace.”
Either way, should other players encounter it during their playthrough, they should be cautious. Performing a Leap of Faith inFar Cry 6ends in death, but for many fans, it may be an irresistible moment.
Far Cry 6is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
