Far Cry 6has a colorful cast of amigos that will rush to Dani’s side whenever they need. Among these animal companions is a blood-thirsty rooster named Chicharron.
UnlikeFar Cry 6’s amigos Guapo and Chorizo, which are unlocked through the campaign or a series of easier tasks, players need to completeChicharron’s three sidequests. For the first sidequest to be unlocked, Dani must have completed “Meet the Legends” in El Este. Since the player can choose which region to liberate after the prologue, they can unlock Chicharron very early.

Man’s Best Enemy (*)
The “Meet the Legends” questis located inEl Este’s Promise Peaks. After completing this, inspect the note on the post by El Tigre’s bar in thePatriotas Peak Guerrilla Camp. Now, make way forAlvarez Farm, which is southeast ofPatriotas Peak. Players will meet Chicharron and his owner, Reinaldo. Accepting the quest from Reinaldo will prompt Dani to follow Chicharron toVacia Coast Military Kennels.
Thankfully, Chicharron has already taken out the guards, so all that’s left is to open the gate to the kennels. Look to the left of the kennels for an orange lever.
(*) WARNING: This quest requires shooting fictional, domesticated animals (dogs, to be exact) en masse. If this content is disturbing to the player, they should forgo recruiting Chicharron.
“Man’s Best Enemy” isn’t a stealth mission -at all. Go all out, but the main goal is to protect Chicharron. Here are some tips to help complete this portion of the quest:
Once this is finished, use the grapplehook on the water tower at the southwest. Walk up to the black and red FND logo and click the action button.Dani will vandalize the logowith Chicharron’s name as a warning to Castillo’s men.
Pecking Orders
The next quest is “Pecking Orders,” so speak to Reinaldo atVacia Coast Military Kennels. Again, the player must protect Chicharron as he wreaks havoc on the FND. This time, players will help him destroy intel on Libertad.
Follow Chicharron toVacia Coast Military Archives, but defend him from a distance. Chicharron will blow up vehicles (somehow) and it’s easy to get caught in the blast. Chicharron will be “Down,” so walk up to him andRevive him if there’s a white cross with a blue circleover his head.
At theVacia Coast Military Archives,Chicharron will bust down the door and charge in. Open fire on the guards in the open room to the right. Here are some more tips for this quest:
After this, follow Chicharron out of the building and use the ladder to get up to the roof. Then, grapple up the banner so Dani can vandalize this with Chicharron’s name too.

Wingman
This is the final quest in Chicharron’s recruitment. “Wingman” will take place outside the archives, and Dani will once again have to follow and protect Chicharron. The destination is theNaval Service Monument, so help Chicharron as he takes down any FND soldiers along the way.
Finally, after all of this,Chicharron will officially join the team.
Chicharron’s Abilities
If it hadn’t been obvious from his string of sidequests, Chicharron is an aggressive amigo. Like Guapo, he is not recommended for when the player wants or needs to go stealth. Players can have him wait outside by clicking Right on the D-Pad until they’ve disabled the alarms at FND Bases.
UnlikeFar Cry 5, it’s impossible to have more than one amigo at a time. If Chicharron isn’t fit for the mission, players can dismiss him through the Amigo tab on the menu. However, if players want to go all out in aggressive gameplay, then Chicharron may be the rooster for the job.
