Although Bethesda Softworks’Fallout 4and HoYoverse’sGenshin Impactshare little in common beyond being role-playing games, sometimes fandoms overlap and unique creations are made. Fan art often combines two different gaming universes in order for players to more easily speculate on what two games might look like if mixed, and oneGenshin Impactfan has imagined HoYoverse’s ARPG asFallout 4.
Reddit user Ashreix recently posted a fan art that brings together the worlds ofGenshin ImpactandFallout 4that centers on the Traveler and Paimon. As the fan art reflects, theTraveler ofGenshin Impactis considered a protagonist of the game despite many other playable characters becoming favorites in the community. UnlikeGenshin Impact,Fallout 4fans are limited to playing the RPG as the Sole Survivor of Vault 111 who has a rich customization system and shares a similarly ambiguous name as the Traveler.

Just like inGenshin Impact, the Traveler in Ashreix’sFallout 4-inspired fan art shows the character carrying a sword on their back, but they are also holding a futuristic gun that would be at home in theFalloutuniverse. While there are many companions inFallout 4like Nick Valentine, Paladin Danse, and Piper Wright,Genshin Impact’s Paimon seems to be playing the role of Dogmeat in Ashreix’s fan art. The smaller Paimon alerts the curious Traveler that they found something in Ashreix’s piece just as Dogmeat often locates important loot such as ammo and consumables for the Sole Survivor inFallout 4.
As Dogmeat accompaniesFallout 4players through their Boston commonwealth adventure, Paimon joins the Traveler, which shows the key similarity between the characters beyond this fan art. Though the Traveler and Paimon are normally found inGenshin Impactzones like Inazumaor Liyue, Ashreix’s fan art shows the HoYoverse characters in the torn-up world ofFallout 4, emphasized by much darker colors in the background thanGenshinfans are familiar with. Paimon wears a western outfit, one that can be found in Nuka-World, with some items in its pockets in the fan art. The Traveler is in the common Vault 111 jumper thatFallout 4fans are given early in the game in Ashreix’s fan art while wearing a crown more akin to aGenshin Impactitem.
ManyGenshin Impactfans responding to Ashreix’s fan art have celebrated the pairing withFallout 4, while some others were surprised to see such a clash of styles. Referring toPreston Garvey’s regular call-outs inFallout 4, oneGenshin Impactfan told Ashreix that a Settlement needs their help, while another fan comparedGenshincharacter Katheryne to Garvey.
Genshin Impactis available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
