InFallout 76, the most powerful weapons usually have 3 legendary effects, though a recent update added some strong contenders that are exceptions to that rule. The Nuka World On Tour update introduced some new, named weapons, with most of them having additional traits beyond 3 legendary effects. In total there were 9 weapons added toFallout 76throughout the update as rewards from various sources, including the weapon from the seasonal Scoreboard that debuted alongside the update.
During the month thatFallout 76’s Nuka World On Tourupdate was released, Public Events from the update were guaranteed to occur at the top of every hour, with additional chances to spawn the Public Events every 20 minutes between. Though that month has passed and provided plentiful chances to earn all the different rewards, these events have since been permanently added to the available pool of Public Events. In addition to the Public Events and seasonal Scoreboard, the update also added a new server-wide Boss Event, all of which are sources for the new weapons.

S-Tier
Nuka-Launcher:The Nuka-Launcher is earned from progressing to level 85 of the current Season 11 Scoreboard. After the Season ends it will potentially be available in the NukaCade, similar to how the Auto-Axe weapon from the Scoreboard ofFallout 76’s The Pittupdate was added after Season 10 ended. The weapon is a modified variant of the Auto Grenade Launcher that notably comes with the Two-Shot effect, 90% reduced weight, and a much faster fire rate than the base weapon. This weapon is great for tagging enemies to ensure the user’s share of loot and experience, otherwise, it can steal the spotlight. Having such a high fire rate and the chance to increase the size of explosions with perks, this weapon is capable of carpet-bombing entire Public Events.
Love Tap:Love Tap is perhaps the best weapon from Nuka World On Tour because of the universal utility of the legendary effects. This weapon is good enough without needing any additional support to be amongFallout 76’s weapons that don’t require dedicated builds. The Vampire effect generating player health for every projectile landed pairs extremely well with the faster fire rate, and along with the additional boosts to damage and weapon durability, it’s overkill.

A-Tier
Grand Finale:Grand Finale is a powerful weapon since it comes with one ofFallout 76’s best legendary weapon effects, especially for a Broadsider. The extra projectile fired on Two-Shot-weapons can’t be changed by any damage modifications applied, so since the Broadsider doesn’t have any damage-oriented mods, Two-Shot guarantees double damage. The firework effect on the cannonball projectiles distinguishes the weapon from any others, similar to the spectacle of the Railway Rifle because of its comical train-like sound effects.
Molerat Bat:Molerat Bat has some major synergies working in its favor from its 4 legendary effects, even though one of the effects is far too situational. Having increased damage against mole rats is a great legendary effect to have during Nuka World On Tour’s Boss Event, the Ultracite Titan mole rat and its minions, though acquiring it from completing the event is somewhat redundant. Nevertheless, the other 3 legendary effects on the weapon are a great find on any fast-swinging melee weapon.

B-Tier
Whacker Smacker:Unlike any of the other Nuka World on Tour weapons, besides the Thirst Zapper, the Whacker Smacker only comes with 3 explicit legendary effects. While it isn’t listed, the fourth legendary effect is likely the weapon’s impressively fast swing speed. Even though the Super Sledge base weapon is one ofthe best melee weapons inFallout 76, the Whacker Smacker’s legendary effects beyond swing speed could still be a lot better, despite that the weapon is still powerful as is.

Gunther’s Big-Iron:Gunther’s Big-Iron features 4 legendary effects like most of the weapons fromFallout 76’s Nuka World On Tour update, along with an additional trait on the gun. The fifth effect on Gunther’s Big-Iron is a unique weapon mod that changes the ammo type from .44 to .45 caliber rounds. As nostalgic as the name and weapon may be for series fans ofcultFalloutgames, pistols inFallout 76are among the most underwhelming weapon types.
Western Spirit:The Western Spirit, like Gunther’s Big-Iron, is another nostalgic throwback to the Western weapons ofFallout: New Vegas, with little more to offer. The legendary effects on the Western Spirit have frustrating performances that fall short of expectations for long-range rifles. The increased ammo capacity isn’t as impactful as the Quad ammo legendary effect, and consequently, the Furious legendary effect increasing damage on consecutive hits isn’t able to reach its maximum potency before needing to be reloaded. The Western Spirit and Gunther’s Big-Iron are arguably better off being on display for collectors ofthe rarest items inFallout 76than to be actively used.

D-Tier
Burning Love:This bow offers players easy access to a fully modded bow with fire damage, but beyond that, it isn’t the best. Plans for the bow and crossbow, as well as their mods, are otherwise available after reaching a certain reputation rank with the Raiders or the Settlers Factions. Two of Burning Love’s 4 legendary effects contradict each other, since “while aiming” effects don’t apply while usingVATS inFallout 76, so it has far from the best legendary effects for bow weapons.
Thirst Zapper:The Thirst Zapper isn’t inherently a legendary weapon or even an event reward, though it can be purchased with NukaCade points and modified at a workbench. Unlike the other weapons coming with scripted legendary rolls, the Thirst Zapper’s legendary effects can be rolled from a variety of existing options. As hinted by the name, the Thirst Zapper without the explosive mods is an unlimited-ammo water gun that deals no damage, effectively amongthe most impractical weapons from theFalloutseries. The weapon is further unique due to the fact that, unlike any other explosive weapon, it has restrictions set on its available legendary effect rolls. One of the few restrictions is that the Quad legendary weapon effect isn’t available on the weapon, so, with no mods that increase the magazine size, the explosive Thirst Zapper is stuck at a single-round capacity. With how slow the weapon fires, how expensive the explosive ammo types are to craft, and the legendary effect restrictions, the only reason this weapon would replace a legendary Fat Man is because of its appearance.

Fallout 76is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
