After only a short time in the spotlight,Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockoutbecame wildly popular. Since then, some games likeAmong Ushave muscled in on its streaming territory somewhat. Despite that, the game is still popular to get anESPN documentary greenlit following TimtheTatman.
In some ways,Fall GuysandAmong Uscompliment each other perfectly. While both can be played by anyone and mastered by the dedicated, they cover different styles of gameplay.Among Usis centered on deduction and careful planning, whileFall Guysis all about concentration, reflex, and energy. Because of this, the most popular stages inFall Guystend to be the ones where tension is high throughout. Players enjoy being on the move and on their toes, but that’s not how all the stages operate.

Every player has their preferred stages inFall Guys, and with a few new ones added in Season 2, some have new favorites. However, there is a general consensus that a few are duds. At the very bottom of theFall Guysstage tier listis Perfect Match. It plays to none of the strengths ofFall Guys, requiring players to stand around for an arbitrary amount of time with no excitement. After many, many complaints from players, the devs have decided to change Perfect Match a bit during Season 2’s midseason changes.
The new addition to Perfect Match seems both devious and simple: a pair of fast-spinning bars. This is the same obstacle that makes up half of the challenge in Jump Club and Jump Showdown. This is only one ofseveral changes coming inFall GuysSeason 2, but players are skeptical of its impact. One player asked why someone couldn’t simply jump onto the top of the platform in the middle, and theFall Guysdevs didn’t seem to have an answer.
In all likelihood, there will be more changes besides the jump bars.Fall Guysis still experimenting at this point, testingnew modes like Gauntlet Showdownand new ideas like this. For now, though, players may simply have to make do with jumping rope on Perfect Match.
On the other hand, it may prove to be more difficult than anticipated. After all, aspointed out by The Undertaker himself, it doesn’t take much to knock the Beans off a cliff. Perhaps Perfect Match will really be a bit closer to perfect with this update.
