The expansion not onlybrings new monsters into the mix, but there are some fan favorites making a return as well, and players can prepare to explore several new biomes and check out the new main village hub.
The hunters out there that want to jump into the new expansion as fast as possible can use this guide to learn about the expected release times forMonster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakon both the Nintendo Switch eShop and Steam. While Capcom has not officially confirmed anything just yet, there are some potential release times that might turn out to be factual. Alright, let’s get into it.

Again, Capcom hasn’t said anything about an official release time to look forward to; however, the Steam listing page for theSunbreakexpansionhas a countdown timer, and, if it’s correct,the expansion is set to release around 12 AM ET on May 25, 2025. This means that players on thewest coast of the US(Seattle, Los Angeles, etc), willgain access toSunbreakaround 9 PM PT.
And as for Steam users in other time zones, here’s a quick rundown of the expected release times:

According to the official Nintendo support page for new eShop releases, “digital-only software will usually be available at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on the day of release.” Since this is DLC content and not a full-blown release, the timing might be different, but it’s highly likely that 9 AM PT is the winner.

How Much is the Sunbreak DLC?
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreakcosts $39.99 on Switch and on Steam. It’s worth noting that to start theSunbreakexpansion, players will need to own the base version ofMonster Hunter Rise, and will need to get to a certain point in the story. Specifically, players will need to complete the 7-star Hub Quest: Serpent Goddess of Thunder.
There’s a demo out now forSunbreakthat lets players face off against a couple of different monsters, including anultra-hard quest to take down the flagship monster of the expansion, Malzeno.
