Upon its release a few months ago,Elden Ringcertainly lived up to the hype. As well as carrying on the winning formula that has made FromSoftware one of the most successful developers of this generation, it’s also becomeone of the highest rated video games of all time, currently sitting pretty with a Metacritic score of 96 on current-gen consoles and 94 on PC. On top of its overall success, there’s also the modding community that is helping to tweak the base game, which includes adding in characters from other franchises.
As seen by DSO Gaming, a modder known as Tallmaget has created an add-on forElden Ringthat allows players to take on the roll of one Pyramid Head ofSilent Hillfame. Numerous images on the Nexus Mods page show the brutish punisher taking the place of The Tarnished. Quite frankly, he looks like he fits the part well. He even comes with his Great Knife. The description also says that there are two versions of the download, an original version and a “bloodlust massacre” version, with the modder recommending that people play with the blood on.

Pyramid Head is easilyone of the most iconic villains in horror gaming, up there with the likes ofResident Evil 3’s Nemesis, andBioShock’s Andrew Ryan. Only canonically making sense to appear inSilent Hill 2, the stalking antagonist is a manifestation of protagonist James Sunderland’s sense of guilt and desire to punish himself. Mr. Head does turn up in other games, as well as in the movie adaptations, but his representation outsideSH2is more for fan service than story significance.
It’s also not surprising that he’s been modded into a game likeElden Ring. GivenSilent Hill’s status asone of the most influential horror games of all time, though it’s sadly been in a dormant state for many years now, fans are wont to keep the spirit of the series alive, and modding one of its most famous characters into one of the most currently popular games helps to ensure Pyramid Head stays in the limelight.
There are other franchises that may be mixing themselves into FromSoftware’s latest title, such as a possibility thatFortnitemay be doing a crossover withElden Ringafter a recent poll. Whether the two very disparate games will work together remains to be seen, but most will agree that Pyramid Head almost certainly looks like he belongs in The Lands Between.
Elden Ringis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
