There are lots of iconic characters thatappear inDragon Ball Super. Some of them are allies, such as Lord Beerus and Whis, while others turn out to be adversaries, such as Jiren and Zamasu. Some of these new characters only appear during some particular story arcs, while others become an integral part of the series.
That being said, there is one new character that has become the talk of every fan since its recent appearance in the manga. His name is Granolah. When this article is written, Granolah hasn’t made his anime appearance yet, but his grandiose story in the manga makes some fans consider him to be one of the best new characters in the series thus far. First Appearance in Dragon Ball Super
Granolah make his debut appearance towards the end of chapter 67 of the Dragon Ball Super manga. He is shown infiltrating a ship and easily defeat everybody in it to steal the remnant of an artificial being known as OG73-1, an enemy that has given Goku and friends sometrouble in the previous arc.
In chapter 68, it is revealed that Granolah is actually a bounty hunter who works for a group called the Heeters. Granolah is a man of few words, but his strength and sniping ability makes him stand out from other bounty hunters employed by the group.
Childhood
Granolah was born and raised on a planet called Cereal. The Cerealians live together on that planet with a couple dozen Namekian people. Unfortunately, the bountiful planet Cereal becomes the target ofFrieza and his army.The Saiyans who turn into giant apes, along with hundreds of Frieza’s soldiers, destroy the planet and massacre both the Cerealians and Namekians, leaving only Granolah and a Namekian man named Monaito as the sole survivors.
Not long after the carnage, The Heeters came along as the intermediary and sold the planet to a race called The Sugarians who’s been looking all over the universe for a new planet to settle. 50 years later, the current Granolah and the old Monaito live peacefully with the Sugarians who manage to build a prosperous society on the planet Cereal.
Life as a Bounty Hunter
Driven by his hatred and thirst for revenge, little Granolah keeps on training every day to hone his physical and sniping ability. He began to take on jobs as a bounty hunter and slowly but surely, Granolah starts to make a name for himself.

The Heetersnoticed the skills and potential of Granolah and offered him to work for them as their official bounty hunter. As the years go by, Granolah successfully becomes one of the best bounty hunters in the universe. All the while he keeps biding his time for the change to exact his revenge.
Power Up with Dragon Balls
No matter where the planet is located in the universe, as long as there’s a Namekian in it, then there can beDragon Balls on that planet.The same thing is true for planet Cereal. When the Namekians lived on the planet, they created their own Dragon Balls that only requires two balls to summon the dragon. As the last Namekian on the planet, Monaito is the one that keeps the Dragon Balls alive on planet Cereal.
Granolah knew about Monaito’s Dragon Ball for a long time but is unable to find the other balls needed to summon the dragon. That is until he sees the news about a Sugarians who accidentally found a Dragon Ball in the crevices near a river.
Granolah realizes that his current power won’t be enough to defeat Frieza, so he needs other ways to gain massive strength. He decided to steal the Dragon Ball from the Sugarians, and ask the dragon to make him the strongest being in the universe. In exchange for 150 years worth of his life, the dragon grants Granolah’s wish.
Battle Against Goku and Vegeta
Thanks to the information gained through the OG73-1 that Granolah brought to them, The Heeters find out about the existence of Dragon Balls and want to get it for themselves. Granolah’s sudden powers up confirm their suspicion that planet Cereal indeed has a Dragon Ball in it.
In order to take out Granolah that has become a thorn in their side, The Heeters pit him against the next strongest being on earth, which is Goku and Vegeta. Under the pretext of protecting Planet Cereal froman evil beingcalled Granolah, the Heeters tricked both Saiyans to fight Granolah.
On the other hand, the Heeters also informs Granolah that Frieza has dispatch his underlings, two saiyan warriors, as assassins to kill Granolah because Frieza knows that Granolah is out to kill him. Thus begin the destructive battle between a couple of battle-crazed Saiyans against a man blinded by rage and revenge who just becomes the strongest being in the universe.
