Bungie has nerfed theDestiny2Jolt ability, and some players aren’t happy about the new version of it. Jolt was introduced as an ability as part of theDestiny 2Season 18 Arc 3.0 system, and while it hasn’t been changed too much since then, a recent adjustment has caused many fans to voice their displeasure.

Bungie has added a plethora of content toDestiny 2since it was released back in 2017, with the expansion calledLightfallincluding fresh abilities, enemies, locations to explore, and more. On top of the five expansions that have dropped so far, Bungie also added a battle pass system withDestiny 2: Shadowkeep, which has been widely adopted by fans due to the rewards associated with it. Unlike the praise that these content drops often garner, a recent smaller patch has caused a backlash due to changes made to the chain lightning-like Jolt skill.

As part of someDestiny 2Season 21reworks being made, Jolt has seen a nerf that notably reduced its damage, particularly with the target enemy. With weapons not improving thisDestiny 2ability, some fans have speculated that there’s a bug linked to the changes that inadvertently cut the single target damage that may be fixed in the future. Comparing how the Jolt ability worked before the Season 21 adjustment to how it currently works, someDestiny 2players have suggested that the main target should receive double damage compared to how it is now which would still reflect a nerf to the skill.

Destiny 2players have gone beyond in-game interactions to voice their frustration with the fresh version of Jolt, with Reddit andDestinyforum posts among several community statements. One fan stated that two-tailed fox catalyst saw a 76% damage nerf which is significantly more of a cut than players are used to with nerfs made in the past like with variousDestiny 2Exotic weapons, Threshers, and the Well of Radiance. As the ability has been nerfed so heavily, someDestiny 2players have recommended that others use different abilities in anticipation of a fix.

Because so many players have expressed their confusion with the Season 21 change to Jolt, Bungie may detail why it altered theDestiny 2Arc 3.0ability or hotfix what some fans think is a bug. Given that Bungie hasn’t explained the Jolt nerf yet, it’s currently unclear if there really is a bug making it worse or if the Season 21 rework functions as it intended.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
