The asymmetric multiplayer formula is a tough genre to crack, but Behaviour Interactive’sDead By Daylightseems to have nailed it, at least for the most part. While games likeFriday the 13thandPredator: Hunting Groundstried their best to make their asymmetrical multiplayer experiences engaging and fun, regardless of which side of the game players were on, they often felt fairly unbalanced, with most matches seemingly favoring either the killer or the survivors.Dead By Daylighthas stood the test of time, having been out for over six years.
Over those six years,Dead By Daylighthas had plenty of opportunities to expand on its mechanics and content, which has resulted in a number of pop-culture crossovers over the years. FromStranger Things,toSaw,toScream,Dead By Daylighthas crossed over with just about every popular horror franchise out there, including one of the gaming industry’s most beloved horror series,Resident Evil. Released in June of last year, this expansion pack broughtResident Evil’s Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and The Nemesis to the game, along with a new Raccoon City Police Station map. This DLC was an immediate fan-favorite on launch, and thanks to some recent leaks, fans may be seeing moreResident Evil xDead By Daylightcrossovers soon.

Dead By Daylightis a game that’s always been prone to leaks. For whatever reason, it’s usually the case that any big DLC crossover that’s coming to the game is leaked at least a month before any form of official announcement. Well, a supposednewResident EvilChapterhas just been leaked online, bringing two new Survivors, a new Killer, and a handful of new perks to the game. Though these were all leaked by the fairly reputably source DBDLeaks, it should obviously all still be taken with a pinch of salt.
Called “The Mastermind” in-game, the newDead By DaylightKiller will allegedly be Albert Wesker, one ofResident Evil’s most infamous villains. In series lore, Wesker was originally one of Umbrella’s top scientists, and was one of the original test subjects for Project W, which wasthe prototype for the T-Virus, the cause ofResident Evil’s widespread zombie infection. With a prototype version of the infection in his blood, Wesker has superhuman abilities, some of which are detailed in his leakedDead By Daylightperks.
According to the leak,Wesker’s Killer Powerwill be called “Virulent Bound.” Acting similarly to Nemesis' in-game attack, Wesker’s move lets him leap onto a Survivor and infect them with the Uroboros Virus. During the attack, after the player has been infected, Wesker will launch the Survivor either into a surface, or onto the ground. A Survivor’s infection can continue to build if Wesker attacks them multiple times, eventually leading them to become completely defenseless. However, Survivors can heal their infection by finding the First Aid Sprays littered across the map.
Dead By Daylight’s Albert Wesker will also apparently havethree teachable Killer perks, each of which reference the character’s superhuman speed and strength. The first of these, named “Superior Anatomy,” activates when a Survivor performs a fast vault within eight meters of Wesker, and gives the Killer a vault speed increase of 30-40% for three seconds. The second perk, “Awakened Awareness,” lets Wesker see the aura of any Survivors within a 16-20 meter radius if he’s currently carrying a Survivor. The last perk, “Terminus,” gives any hooked, down, or injured Survivor the Broken status effect until they’ve opened the exit gates. Once the exit gates have been opened, the Broken status effect persists for another 20-30 seconds.
Dead by Daylightis currently available on Mobile, Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
