Summary

Dead by Daylightwill be adding Naughty Bear to its roster 13 years after the character’s debut. The game is best known for bringing some of the most well-known horror icons into one enjoyable 4v1 space. With characters like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Pyramid Head, and other IPs, the most diverse line-up helps give the game more mystique and thrill. Sci-Fi antagonistThe Alien isDead by Daylight’s most recent additionand gives a unique flavor to the mix. This upcoming addition of Naughty Bear should feel right at home.

While named IPs help pull casual audiences into the game, the 4v1 asymmetric multiplayer title also does a great job of highlighting its own original characters. One of the most recognizable ones isDead by Daylight’s The Trapperwho also serves as the pseudo-mascot, being plastered over many pieces of marketing images. From its name, The Trapper uses its traps and trusty knife to hunt down survivors, a somewhat simple but effective skill. Interestingly enough, The Trapper will be getting a unique update soon which will see it receive a new type of outfit.

Dead by Daylight’s new Naughty Bear skin will be available for use with The Trapper. It’s a perfect fit as the titular bear uses a large knife similar to The Trapper. In a surprising twist, the outfit will also come with its own unique Mori, a first for any alternate costume available in the game. The Naughty Bear attire will also be classified as a Visceral Legendary, which is also the only one of its kind in-game. The skin will be purchasable starting October 31, just in time for Halloween. This is not only a timely release for the occasion, but it also serves as a way to re-introduce the long-forgotten character to many fans.

Skins that totally turn the character into a different one aren’t exactly new. TheSilent HillandResident Evilpacks introduced alternate skins which totally changed the characters' aesthetic. EvenDead by Daylight’s Crypt TV Collectiondid the same for Killers. However, the introduction of a unique Mori is a game-changer. This may open up doors to similar fan requests who’ve wanted to see killer variations while allowing the developers to devote fewer resources to what could easily be also classified as a new character.

One huge request that fans have been asking for is a Mr. X skin forDead by Daylight’s Nemesis. With the new Visceral Legendary skins, perhaps this request might be possible in the near future, seeing as how the two characters are highly similar in build. The idea of an outfit that also adjusts how the killer behaves is an interesting experiment on Behaviour’s part. If it succeeds, then the developers could study how to add more Visceral Legendary skins. The idea of using an old Behaviour property such asNaughty Bearallows freedom for the team to play with its details. As it stands, the return of the Naughty Bear character in video games will open more possibilities, not just inDead by Daylight, but maybe in terms of the return of Behavior’s other IPs as well.
