According to Ross, his Twitter activity was just intended to be a message of appreciation. Ross appears to just be saying that he’s thankful for everyone talking aboutDays Gone, whether it’s it kindness, good humor, or what-have-you. Further, Ross clarifies that he’s making no actual comment on the situation at hand. He’s neither confirming nor denying the truth of the report, heading off anyone’s assumption that his likes might contribute to the veracity ofDays Gone 2not being greenlighted.

Despite Ross' clarifying comments on Twitter, the replies to his post definitely have a mournful tone to them. There are also lots of posts encouraging Ross, saying how much they’re looking forward to his and Bend Studio’s next game.

While it’s unclear what the future ofDays Gonewill be, it would be understandable if Sony did decide to pull the plug on a sequel.Days Gonereceived generally average reviews, though several key reviews were highly critical. Sales-wise,Days Goneseemed to do well, but if Sony’s priority is blockbusters then starting over with a new IP or a more established IP would definitely be appealing.

If Bend Studio doesn’t get to continueDays Gone, it’ll certainly be a disappointment. But Bend Studio has a long history of popular and successful games and is certain to land on its feet. It worked on theSyphon Filterfranchisefor a decade and produced one of the PlayStation Vita’s best games inUncharted: Golden Abyss. Whatever Bend Studio’s next game is, fans will be looking forward to it.
