Following many updatesand a popular animeseries,Cyberpunk 2077has been shaped into a game that fans are excited to get back to. The Next-Gen update brought the game to a further refined state on current consoles along with a few surprises for new and returning players. This includes a pet iguana to keep in V’s main apartment.
Unfortunately, players on the Xbox One and PS4 will not be able to acquire this fun little secret. However, players just starting their journey into Night City for the first time on current-gen consoles can find thiswell-hidden easter egg. Follow this guide to acquire the iguana pet inCyberpunk 2077.

Start the Heist
The early missions inCyberpunk 2077are an extended prologue that build up to the Heist. Players simply need to follow the storyline until the Heist begins. These sections of the game are very linear in fashion and lead up to the stealing of the Relic from Konpeki Plaza setting off the events of the main storyline. Follow Jackie and use the Flathead robot to infiltrate the hotel. After these objectives are complete the one chance players will have to get the iguana is when they actually enter Yorinobu’s Penthouse.
Pick up the Iguana Egg
Once players have entered the penthouse they will exit an elevator. Immediately turn to the left past the hall and there is a large tree trunk resting on a platform covered in grass. The egg is very well concealed in the grass on the left side of the tree trunk. Crouch to get close and see the yellow glow indicating an item to be picked up. Pick the egg up, and it will go into the player’s inventory to be used later.
Complete Playing for Time
After the events of the Heist players are given back control with an open-world to explore freely. They must still complete thePlaying for Timemission. This is a story quest that simply involves talking to Takemura and Johnny Silverhand at Tom’s Diner.
Place the Egg in V’s Apartment
Once players have finished the conversation at Tom’s Diner they must return to V’s main apartmentlocated in the H10 Megabuilding.There will be a new spot to place the iguana egg down in the center of the apartment. Once the egg has been set down it takes90-110 in game daysto hatch. Unless players are willing to sit and use the wait function over and over they can expect it to finally hatch towards the end of their time with the game.
Pet the Iguana
If players get to see the full-grown iguana hatch from the egg they can pet it and occasionally catch interactions with Nibbles if they’vefound the pet catas well. After petting the iguana three times in a row Johnny Silverhand will appear and strum on his guitar as an added bonus.
