There have been mixed reactions to the upcoming remaster ofCrysis,Crytek’s famed shooter. Fans had high hopes for a remaster of the game that was renowned for breaking computers, but early reactions forced the studio to push the release date back for consoles and PC. However, it looks like Nintendo Switch owners are in for a treat whenCrysis Remasteredreleases.
Crysis Remasteredwas originally set to release later in July on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, but the firstgameplay trailer leaked earlyto heavy criticism from fans. Crytek then promised to listen to fans' pleas and postponed the release date to further polish the game and meet the standards of the latest consoles and computers. It was later revealed that the Nintendo Switch port of the game would release ahead of the other versions and keep the July 23rd slot.

New promotional gameplay clips from the Twitter account have shown off just howgood theCrysisremaster looks on Nintendo Switch. While the other versions may be delayed for more polish, the graphics and gameplay captured by the Switch are pretty amazing for a handheld console.
The clip shows an instance of the destructible environment and vegetation bending inCrysis, which, as seen in the video, allows players to shoot down trees during battle.Crysiswas a benchmark game when it first released in 2007, providing a stunning level of depth and detail in the gameplay world that included one of the first instances of vegetation moving from player interaction. Bringing thislevel of detail to Switchis an impressive feat. TheCrysiswebsite also shows other instances of Switch gameplay that display the game’s dynamic lighting and gyro aiming.
While Switch fans will be able to enjoyCrysis Remasteredby the end of the month, other players will have to wait a bit longer. TheCrysisTwitter account did tell PC and console owners to stay tuned and that there would be more updates shortly. For those wishing to replay the originalCrysisgames, the trilogy was recently made available throughEA Access for Xbox One. Considering how quickly Crytek is making moves to polish the game and how far along the Switch rendition is, it can’t be too much longer beforeCrysis Remasteredis available for everyone.
