FormerTwitchpartner and content creator Sliker has received a permanent ban from the service, bringing an apparent end to a saga of controversy surrounding him and his dealings. Some content creators called for Twitch to ban Sliker for his conduct. However, the beleaguered streamer remained on the platform until recently. On February 7, Twitch laid down a permanent ban on Sliker’s channel, which is no longer available on the platform. Prospective viewers are instead greeted with a message that states the channel they are looking for has been removed due to guideline violations. The ban came just days afteran Anonymous-style video was streamedon Sliker’s channel, which had bizarre laughter and only lasted a few minutes. Sliker claimed in his chat that he was hacked and that his backup channel was also banned, and that his main channel was the target of an alleged hacker that wanted him gone.
However, whether the alleged hack was a factor in Twitch’s decision to ban Sliker or not remains to be seen. After Sliker’s scam unraveled, many streamers such as Ludwig called for the English streamer to be banned. Ludwig went as far as to hosta fundraiser to pay back Sliker’s scam victims, with help from xQc, Slime, and OTK project manager Wojito. The fundraiser from Ludwig and company raised over $243,000 in total, which was close to the amount Sliker scammed out of people. Following the fundraiser, Ludwig called on Sliker to do the same and repay his debts.
Sliker’s ban is one of the latest that Twitch has laid down recently. Withcontroversial streamer Mizkif receiving his second banin the span of a month, and the AI-generatedSeinfeldparody calledNothing, Foreverreceiving a temporary ban, Twitch has continued to swing the ban hammer. Whether Sliker has any intent to appeal his permanent ban or go in a different direction is up to him.
