Players have wondered exactly what they could expect from the new map when it arrives on December 8 sinceVanguard’s announcement. Runway

Starting at the northeastern corner of the maponce Season 1 releasesis the Runway. The area is actually the secondary runway of the island and is accordingly smaller and less developed. Half of the region is dominated by a forest that holds a number of smaller single buildings to check for loot. Deep in the forest is a military command center that the developers promise will have its own secrets for players to discover.

Beachhead

To the south is an area known as Beachhead. Running down the eastern coast of the map, the area has a lot of vertical variety from embankments complete with artillery cannons that are prepared for a naval assault. The area also has a lot of cover for players to take advantage of, which should help them avoid fire fromCall of Duty: Vanguard’s Kar98kwhen it is added from the integration. For players who want to avoid long sightlines, the area also houses a village of homes, a barracks, and a large-scale military compound.

Shark’s Lair Submarine Pen

Still further south is the Sub Pen. The island’s largest military building was built by Axis forces to house U-boats, one of which is still there. The facility is made up of a massive inner chamber that players will likely be fighting to control and is surrounded by smaller buildings, a bunker, and a network of underground tunnels. The area seems like it will house some intense medium-range to close-quarters combat, so players will likely want to bring a balanced loadout when heading to the sub pen such as one ofVanguard’s shotgunsor assault rifles.

Resort

In the southeastern corner is the Royal Cabana Resort, an opulent building that wasleaked through some ofWarzone’s calling cards. The area includes a beautiful beach, a scattering of small cabanas that players can use for loot or cover, and a massive main complex. There is a road leading directly to the main hotel building, making the area easily accessible with vehicles as well as a clock tower that could be a great house for players who want to snipe.

Docks

Back to the northern region of the map is the Industrial Docks. Based onCall of Duty’s popular Shipment map, the area is focused on high-stakes close-quarters combat. The area also includes a number of points of interest such as a ship hangar, a defunct headquarters building, a fishing village, and the rusted remains of cranes that can be used to get some distance between combatants.

Mines

Southwest of Industrial Docks is the Phosphate Mines area. As one of the larger areas on the map, it includes a lot of high rising hills, deep valleys, winding pathways, and old mining equipment. The area also boasts a number of buildings from the mine’s operations as well as some secrets that the developers aren’t quite ready to reveal just yet. It seems likely that the area will allow squads to hide and ambush other players while also potentially being a great place for the developers to leave hints forWarzone’s Pacific storyline.

Peak

Atop the dormant volcano near the center of the Pacific map is the area named Peak. The area will be of particular interest for players who want to gain a height advantage over their opponents as it is by far the highest point on the map, and is complete with an under construction military structure to fight over. The volcano also offers squads plenty of options for cover through multiple rock outcroppings that players will likely fall in love with if the area becomes a hot drop.

Agricultural Center

The Agricultural Center zone and its fields are the largest zone in the middle of the new island. The area is covered in small isolated farms, abandoned machinery, and logging camps. The area seems to offer plenty of long sightlines. It will be interesting to see how the area plays out, especially with just how much thenew map is changing upCall of Duty: Warzone.

Capital

At the southern tip of the island is Caldera Capital City. The city is nestled in a large natural basin with a shoreline and a number of historical buildings with plenty of windows for players to peek through. For players who want a little more space, the capital is accompanied by a spacious suburb and a lighthouse as well as a yacht club on the shore.

Arsenal

Back on the northern side of the island is the Naval Arsenal area. The area is dominated by a military shipyard and base that is defined by a healthy mix of indoor and outdoor combat as well as more eclectic tactical positions that take advantage of the stark height differences throughout the zone. The zone includes a number of larger structures deeper inland on the island as well as more spacious areas around the shipyard and a radar array. The area seems to be a pretty different zone forWarzone, which plays into howrisky of a decision it was to move away from Verdansk.
