A lot of fans are easy to call out Denji for beingso easily manipulated by Makimabut when it comes down to it, how many fans would be able to resist her charm (and intimidation) themselves? Makima is a master at manipulation and Denji’s lack of human interaction doesn’t help his case when fighting against her sneaky tactics. However, many viewers don’t exactly have the same excuse and would still submit to Makima’s desires.
Despite her cold, heartless personality, Makima still somehow has her grip on fans and knows how to make them the obedient dogs she wants them to be.
7The Perfect Trifecta
The “gatekeep, gaslight, girlboss” meme seems as if it had to have been made just for Makima herself. There’s no one in the world more fitting for this meme than Makima as her ability tomanipulate Denji into believing she has feelings for him(and even cared about him as a human being) was some of the most delicate (yet obvious) gaslighting ever done. If there’s something Makima wants, she’ll always somehow find a way to get it, whatever it is.
Makima is truly the girlboss to end all girlbosses.
6Easily Proven Wrong
They say it can be easy to gauge someone’s character byhow kind they are to animals. How someone treats creatures that don’t have the same mental capacity as human beings is key as generally, people believe that if someone is kind enough to a being that doesn’t understand kindness on a human level, then they will surely be kind to human life as well.

While this is fairly accurate, it appears Makima is one of the few exceptions. While Makima has no problem taking the lives of many innocent human beings in order to achieve her plans, she seems to be extremely warm and kind to animals. Aside from her agreement with rats/mice around Japan to keep tabs on others (like Reze), Makima also owns a total of seven dogs she happily lives with! Who knew an animal lover could be such a monster deep down?
5Uncanny Resemblance
If it weren’t for the vastly different art styles, many anime fans would be wondering whyChainsaw Man’s Makima has a part-time job starring inMiss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maidas the main character!
The pair may seem eerily similar at first glance, but they definitely have their clear differences. While Miss Makima is seen as a smoking hot femme fatale,Kobayashi is at the other end of the spectrum. Poor Kobayashi is constantly being teased and criticized for lacking feminine flair and is often mistaken for a boy. Perhaps Makima wouldn’t have as much power over Denji if she were more like Kobayashi and less like herself.
4Fickle Love
Unfortunately for Denji, when Makima has her eye on something she wants, she doesn’t bother settling for any less. Denji may have been under the impression that Makima had genuine feelings for him (how could he not, she said he was just her type), but under all the layers her of facade, her flirty charm towards Denji was simply to get him on her side.
Makima was interested in Chainsaw Man and later the Chainsaw Devil, never Denji himself. As soon as Denji managed to regain his human consciousness aftertransforming into his full-on devil form, Makima suddenly lost interest and desperately wanted the feral monster she once had back.
3Reducing Protagonists' Into A Shell Of A Human Being
Makima andBerserk’s Griffith are a special kind of antagonist; one that even their diehard fans wouldn’t really be able to defend when it comes to their wrongdoings or moral compasses. Poor Guts and Denji have both been put through hell for being chosen as their series' protagonists, suffering, grieving, and ultimately being broken down into a shell of their former selves.

Griffith and Makima are similar, but the biggest coincidence between these two antagonists is their ability to kill their rivals' loved ones without an ounce of guilt in their hearts. Perhaps a group therapy session with benefit both theChainsaw ManandBerserkcast.
2A Small Sacrifice To Make
In Denji’s defense, the simple promise of aquaint, tasty breakfastfrom a cute and (seemingly) innocent young woman sounds like a dream come true compared to his previous life. Young Denji was forced to go dumpster-diving for leftovers if he didn’t have enough money for food just to keep himself and little Pochita alive. It’s only natural that any type of food that didn’t come out of a dumpster would sound like an upgrade to Denji. He would be hunted down as a devil anyway if he refused, right?
However, for manyChainsaw Manfans, the same excuse doesn’t exactly apply. Even with Makima’s strict attitude, there are still a handful of fans that would gladly accept her conditions so long as they were granted time with Miss Makima herself!

When it comes to defending their faves, Power fans may keep things short and sweet and Reze’s fans may be simple to please, but of course, Makima fans can’t help but elaborate as much as possible. The rules and morals of real life are often thrown away when anime fans pick out their favorite characters.
