In a series of tweets, female hip-hop icon Cardi B lamented what led to what she calls her “missing out on a multi-millon dollar deal” from a potential collaboration withCall of Duty. Now fans are left to wonder what could have been in terms of a Cardi BCall of Dutycommercialor in-game appearance.Every year in the lead up to a newCall of Dutyrelease, Activision tends to roll out the celebrities to help advertise its games. Fans have already seen the likes of Pete Davidson,Steve Aoki, and TimTheTatman star in some live-action commercials this year. Apparently, Cardi B was set to join that roster but due to a scheduling conflict, she was unable to make her mark on theCall of Dutyfranchise.RELATED:Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta Was Biggest in Series HistoryIn some tweets the rapper made last week, she said she could not attend a scheduled shoot day because it conflicted with a court appearance. She had to appear for a court date where she pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a 2018 incident involving her and two other women that worked at an adult entertainment club. Her court appearance on September 15 clashed with a supposedCall of Dutyshoot day. It is assumed that due to other circumstances, Activision and representatives for Cardi B were not able to reschedule her shoot day. Her tweets about the situation did not specify what she would have been doing forActivision, but she had a “multi-million dollar” offer on the table with the publisher.

She took this moment as an opportunity to give a lesson to her fans that choosing violence isn’t always the right answer. And that incidents in the past can come back to haunt a person. In her case, it will hurt her pockets to the tune of millions of dollars. Even as up-and-coming rapper Ice Spice wanted to rally the troops to get Activision to set a new date for Cardi B’sCall of Dutyshoot, that ship seems to have sailed. At least for now.

In July, Cardi B did shoot a music video for her single “Hot Sh*t,” where she had a diamond pendant featuring belovedCall of Dutycharacter “Ghost.” This could have been the opening act of a larger collaboration between the rapper and Activision forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Rappers likeSnoop Dogg, Gunna, and Cardi B’s husband Offset all lent their image or music to theCall of Dutyfranchise. Instead, she will have to hope for a future opportunity to led her image or music to theCall of Dutyfranchise.
