Call of Duty: Warzonehas remained popular due to its free-to-play nature and consistent updates, with the latest season set to shakeup the flow of aWarzonematch through the new subway tunnels being added to the map. Beyond these subway tunnels, however,Warzoneplayers will be getting a new vehicle-based mode as well.

Shared in aCall of DutyBlog Post as part of theModern WarfareSeason 6 content roadmap, Armored Royale is certainly shaping up to be an interesting mode. The blog post describes it as “fast-paced” and “high action,” with theWarzonevariant giving every team a heavily armored cargo truck with a turret attached. What portion of the map will be playable is unclear from the post, though open areas like Krovnik Farmland would make sense.

Aside from every team spawning with a vehicle, the other key aspect is the mode’s unique respawn system. According to the blog post, “squad members can respawn if their truck is still in one piece,” meaning that a strategy to keep the truck intact will be just as important as the players themselves surviving. Once the vehicle is blown up, respawns are disabled for a team, with the last squad standing winning “regardless of whether their truck just rolled out of a repair shop or has its parts scattered throughout greater Verdansk." Players will surely find some clever places to hide their vehicles if there are not restrictions, with thenewWarzonesubway tunnelsbeing a strong candidate.

Players will also have to keep an eye out for cheaters in this new mode, though, as theWarzoneaimbot hacks have still been prevalent despite Infinity Ward doing their best to stop them. With yet anotherWarzonestreamer caught failing after using an aimbot, the problem is likely to persist for some time. While it is hilarious to see players fail miserably even when cheating, aimbot hacks and other glitches have been a plague on the mode for some time. With that in mind, it would not be surprising if Armored Royale players were shot out of their vehicles with insane accuracy every so often.

Armored Royale is not the only uniqueWarzonemodes in the works, however, as the battle royale will supposedly be getting a Zombies addition soon.Voice lines have leaked for the supposed Zombie Royalemode, indicating that it is likely very far along into its development. While nothing is confirmed, a release around the time ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwould make sense given Treyarch’s deep association withCall of DutyZombies.

Beyond adding a Zombies Royale mode, the original TreyarchZombies cast could possibly be playable withinWarzone. With more iconicCall of Dutycharacters to play battle royale variants like Armored Royale with,Warzoneshould remain fresh for some time to come.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
