Call of Duty: Vanguardfans have a good number of options when it comes to their killstreak choices. However, the Bombing Run is something that they may want to avoid, as this particularCall of Duty: Vanguardkillstreak is more likely to kill teammates than enemies.

Like its name would suggest, the Bombing Run sees a series of planes dropping bombs across part of aCall of Duty: Vanguardmap. They will make three passes, making the streak similar in concept to the Strafe Run fromCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. However, the Bombing Run is worse for a few reasons, one of which is the fact that players do not place them on the map manually. Instead, the planes go wherever they please, something that is causing some serious issues.

The Bombing Run is meant to target areas with high concentrations of enemies, though thisCall of Duty: Vanguardkillstreakseems to be hitting entirely random places. Because of this, players who call it in have no way to avoid its path, meaning that they are likely to be killed by their own killstreak. This is frustrating, as players can fail to keep their streak alive due to something out of their control. Unfortunately, pro player Attach has shown that they are just as dangerous to teammates.

In a competitive match, theCall of Duty: Vanguardplayer is seen dropping the final two enemies withthe incredibly powerful MP-40. Once they are dead, Attach and his two teammates move to defuse the bomb, getting a win in an intense Search and Destroy match that was tied at five rounds each. However, as they head toward the bomb, Attach and one of the two teammates are killed by a friendly Bombing Run. Had Attach’s final ally not been in a building when the Bombing Run made its pass, they would have lost the game.

Genuine fear can be heard by the team when the Bombing Run makes another pass, something that should not be the case with a friendly killstreak. WithCall of Duty: Vanguardplayersclearly worried to call in the killstreak, though, fellow pro player Parasite dubbed it the “worst competitive streak ever.” With its randomness and high chances of team killing, this streak is in desperate need of some changes.

While Sledgehammer Games is certainly busy dealing withCall of Duty: Vanguard’s various bugs, it would be nice if the developer made an adjustment to this killstreak. Whether it is changed so that players are allowed to mark where it hits, or so that its explosive payload does less damage to teammates, it is clear that something should be done to make the Bombing Run better.

Call of Duty: Vanguardis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
