In honor of the Halloween season,Call of Dutyis getting a special Haunting event, and Activision has just revealed the patch notes for the related update. Season 6 ofModern Warfare 2andWarzoneis currently underway and, with it running through October, it brought lots of scary additions to the games.Spawn and other horror characters joinedCall of Dutyin the past month, and lots of fans have been looking forward to even more spooky content.
On October 17, Season 6 got even more thrilling with the launch of The Haunting event. The event has become a tradition forCall of Duty, and this year promises lots of great additions and improvements. Now, fans ofModern Warfare 2andWarzonecan dive into the updated content and, thanks to newly released patch notes, they have an idea of what to expect.

As The Haunting begins, Activision has released the patch notes which reveals new rewards, new skins, and new equipment, along with Halloween-twists on old modes and maps. Players previously learned thatCall of Dutyfans could earn the Butcher’s Meat Hook inDiablo 4, but it’s now been revealed that they can also use some spooky new equipment on the battlefields ofCall of Dutyin the form of a special decoy grenade and the Sound Veil Scream field upgrade. This upgrade will disorient foes with terrifying screams and frightening images.
While they’re wielding new equipment and facing new challenges, operators will be able to fight in style with new skins, featuringHe-Man’sSkeletor, Ash from theEvil Deadfranchise, and Inarius fromDiablo. They’ll also be seeing lots of thematic changes to multiplayer modes, with scarecrows replacing Domination flags, skulls replacing dog tags, and much more. Further, the maps El Asilo and Embassy will feature new looks for the duration of the event which offer a darker atmosphere.Modern Warfare 2may not rank amongthe bestCall of Dutygames for Zombie mode, but players should still experience plenty of undead fun this season.
In addition to all the major updates and additions, Activision also rolled out plenty of bug fixes and minor tweaks and promises that weapon balancing will be taking place as the event rolls on. TheSeason 6 update made the great Lachman-762 battle rifle inWarzonemuch betterso it wouldn’t be surprising if this weapon got a nerf in the coming weeks along with other balance changes.
The Haunting promises lots of content to cover and rewards to unlock. Gamers will definitely want to check out the event and all it has to offer as soon as possible.
Patch Notes
The Haunting Returns
Prepare for frightening thrills, the shambling undead, squad hunts to take down grotesque monsters, and those infamous jump-scares as The Haunting returns! The Haunting event brings Halloween-themed Maps, Modes, Events and more across both games.
The Haunting: Soul Capture Event
Available across Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone, the Soul Capture Event is an enhanced and fear-inducing variation on the popular Trophy Hunt Event from Season 03. Available across all game modes, any time a Player is eliminated, they leave a Soul behind. Collect these Souls, which are automatically added to your total in all game modes (meaning there’s no need to visit a Buy Station in Call of Duty: Warzone or DMZ this time), and trade them for items shown in the Events Tab.

The Haunting: Daily Login Rewards
As the creeping terror contained within The Haunting infiltrates Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone, expect to receive a variety of free, limited-time cosmetic items simply by logging into the game as The Haunting progresses.

DOWNLOADS
The Season 06 Reloaded update download file size will be larger than our normal seasonal updates to prepare COD HQ, the game launcher for Call of Duty going forward, for remaining seasonal content and the launch of Modern Warfare III. Note: PC users will also require additional space on their hard drive for the patch copying process; this is only temporary space that is reclaimed upon completion of the patch installation and is not an additional download.

Along with changes to Maps, The Haunting also brings Halloween twists to a select number of modes. While the overall objectives may be the same, try not to get scared out of your wits while completing them.
