The hotly anticipated mid-season update forCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 4 will begin rolling out at 11pm PT on June 29, and it is bringing with it some significant changes to the popular FPS. As usual, the new update will be mixing up the available playlists in the standardCall of Duty: Modern Warfaremultiplayer, with the new patch notes confirming exactly which playlists will be on offer.
After downloading the new update,Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers will have Ground War, Blueprint Gunfight, Team Defender,Cheshire Park24/7, Shoot the Ship 24/7, and Gunfight Tournaments as their main playlists. Team Defender is a mode returning fromModern Warfare 3, whereas Cheshire Park 24/7 will give fans the chance to try out the brand new map and play it as much as their hearts desire. Shoot the Ship 24/7, meanwhile, marks the long-awaited return of the beloved Shipment and Shoot House 24/7 playlist that lets fans play exclusively on two of the game’s smallest and most popular maps.

The new update also makes some important changes to the availableWarzoneplaylists as well. Upon downloading the update,Warzoneplayers will be able to play BR Solos, Duos, and Trios with the normal player count that they’ve always had, but they will also be able to play a variant ofBR Quads with 200 players. This limited-time mode increases the number of players in aWarzonematch by 50, and should result in even more chaotic matches. How exactly fans will react to BR Quads 200 remains to be seen, especially since it appears to be replacing the regular Quads mode for the time being.
It’s also important to note that the newWarzoneupdate will be retaining the Blood Money variant ofPlunder. Some fans may still prefer to have the regular version of Plunder back inWarzone, but Blood Money is better than not having any form of Plunder in the game at all. It’s unclear if Infinity Ward ever plans on bringing regular Plunder back, but fans can play Blood Money in the meantime.
AsCall of Dutyfans no doubt know by now, Infinity Ward likes to change theModern WarfareandWarzoneplaylists on a frequent basis, often changing them with each weekly update. It’s quite likely that some of these playlists will be rotated out by this time next week, though it remains to be seen which playlists will be put on the chopping block.Shoot the Ship24/7 could very well be replaced with something else, though considering how much fans have complained about its absence, that seems a little unlikely.
Regardless, Infinity Ward’s tendency tochangeModern Warfareplaylistsfrequently means fans should be sure to get their fill of these while they have the chance. Barring any unforeseen issues or controversies, all of these playlists should be available for at least a week in the game.
As noted by the patch notes, here are the detailedModern WarfareandWarzoneplaylist changes made in the new update:
