If there’s one thing thatBorderlands 3’s Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot andGun, Loves, and Tentacle DLChas in common, it’s the returning Vault Hunter as an NPC. The first DLC saw Timothy aka Jack’s Clone return, and the second DLC saw the return of Gaige. As such, it seems like a safe bet that at least one former Vault Hunter-turned-NPC will feature in the final two DLCS.
Right now, who that is is anyone’s guess, but treading into tinfoil hat territory, an image that shows theBorderlands 3DLC layout could potentially suggest who those characters are. As seen below, DLC 3 refers to Outlaws and Dinosaurs in a deep pink color, whereas DLC 4 has a bit of a burnt orange color. The question becomes why were these colors chosen and are they potential teases.

What story involves outlaws, dinosaurs, and a returning vault hunter remains to be seen, but the fact that it is associated with the color pink could suggest that one of the female vault hunters are returning. That’s not an absolute, however, as there’s only a handful of female vault hunters left, none of which are directly related to the color pink.
Fiona from theTellTale gameis one such possibility, whereas it wouldn’t be surprising to see Athena and Janey Springs featured in a DLC. The last one featured one couple, after all, and the first game hinted at a possible romance between Moxxi and Timothy. If that’s to be a continuing trend, it would be nice to see what has become of Athena and Springs by the time ofBorderlands 3.

Assuming color is meant to be a tease here, then the final DLC could only be one of two possibilities: Krieg or Salvador. Both characters have a strong presence of orange in their character design, with Salvador’s shirt matching the above color and Krieg’s pants and overall trim as well. Of the two, Krieg seems the most likely as he is the most demanded, and some have even stated that Krieg has officially been teased by Gearbox in the past. It would make sense, but regardless of who returns in future DLC, fans will no doubt be happy to see anotherVault Hunter.
