With another Premier League season having come to an end, EA Sports is back with their annualTeam of the Season(TOTS) and the accompanying special cards that are addedto Ultimate Team. Subject to a fan vote, a full squad of eleven first-team players and six substitutes have been chosen from across six different teams.
As one would expect, many of these players are sought after and very expensive. Unless players get lucky in packs, they may only be able to afford a single player off the market. As such, this topic will help players nail down which of the seventeen players is the best and worth spending all their coins on.

8Alexis Mac-Allister
Very Affordable
After an excellent debut season for Liverpool after a summer 2023 move from Brighton, Alexis Mac-Allister has been rightfully granted a good TOTS card. With strong passing and excellent shooting, he is surprisingly effective, and with an anchor chemistry style applied, his defending, pace, and physicality can all hit 90.
A very good option for newer players or those low on money, he costs around 88,000 coins at the time of writing and is well worth the money even if he won’t set the world alight.
7Cole Palmer
Young Player Of The Year
The recently crowned Young Player of the Year,Cole Palmerwas one of the league’s most consistent performers for a team that often underperformed. With very high pace, shooting, anddribbling, he is a very effective attacker.
As a left-footed player cutting in off the right, hisFinesse Shot Pluswill enable players to score countless goals with him in this way. Having scored all of his penalties in real life in the 23-24 season, a 99-rated penalty stat is an added bonus.
6Phil Foden
The Player Of The Year
Despite receiving the exclusive accolade of Player of the Season,Phil Foden’sTOTS card is rated a touch lower than it ought to have been. Despite this, he is one of the best dribblers that players will use inFC 24with 99 acceleration and an overall dribbling stat of 96.
Hisplaystyle plus’Tiki TakaandTechnicalencourage a quick style of play and with 93 finishing, he is no slouch in front of the goal. His ability to play across the front line is also appreciated.
5Bukayo Saka
Arsenal’s Star Boy
One of the best performers in the Premier League for a few years now, Saka will be especially effective for players looking to attack defenders to the by-line and make crosses into the box. He is just as effective at cutting inside with his left foot and finessing the ball into the far corner.
A very similar card toFoden, Saka’s TOTS card is excellent due to the Manchester City man having a 5-star weak foot (which enables him to go both ways more effectively) and the ability to go for longer with theRelentlessplaystyle plus.
4Rodri
The Key To Sucess
The best defensive midfield player in the world in real life, Rodri’s abilities have been properly reflected in the game. With 94 defending and 96 physicality, he can stop any and all types of attacks.
Improving on this ability to tackle and intercept is the pace at which Rodri can get around the pitch. AShadowchemistry style will get his pace up to 95. If all of this wasn’t enough, he can get a goal for players with the 96 long shots and 99 shot power that reflect his real-life capabilities.
3Mohamed Salah
One Of The Old Guard
Having been one of the best wingers in the world for some time,Salah had a goodto great season by his lofty standards in 23-24. With theFinesse ShotPlaystyle, TOTS Salah is a goal machine who can score from anywhere in and around the box.
Salah is a goal scorer through and through, which is supported by incredible dribbling and pace stats. 95 acceleration, theFirst Touchplaystyle plus, and 94 ball control will have defenders fearing for their lives.
2Virgil Van Dijk
One Of The Best Cards Ever
Certainly the best defender inFC 24and arguably in the history ofFC/Fifagames, Van Dijk is a brick wall of a defender. He is incredibly quick with 92 pace, tall at 6ft 4in, and has exceptional defending stats. It is no wonder that he is priced astonishingly high for a defender at around 7 million coins.
Two of his three Playstyle Plus’s improve his defending throughJockeyandAnticipate, the latter of these improve his already incredible defensive positioning to another level. Van Dijk is so good that the game will do most of the work for players.
1Erling Haaland
The Ultimate Striker
The Premier League’s top goal-scorer for the second season running, Haaland took the prize by scoring five goals more than his nearest rival. As such, he has been rewarded with an exceptional card that will set players back a cool 10 million if they wish to use it.
No wonder the cost, as Haaland has 97 pace despite standing at a towering 6ft 5in and an overall shooting stat of 99. A 5-star-weak foot will prevent any reduction in quality when shooting with his right foot. Headers, volleys, left foot or right,Haaland can, and will, score them all.
