Summary

Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clashis finally here, and it’s bringing with ita massive cast of familiar charactersthat players can take into battle, but with each of them having their combos, abilities, and gimmicks, it’s already being made clear that some are just a little more effective than others. This isn’t to say that any characters in the game are outright bad. In fact, they all excel at doing different things and can be ideal for specific scenarios and game modes, but for anyone who wants to get a head-start, there are a select few combatants who are making quite a name for themselves.

BecauseJujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clashis quite in-depth with its combat mechanics, it means that a character’s kit becomes very important to take into consideration before heading into a match, especially if they’re capable of throwing out buffs and debuffs to tip the scales of a fight. With that being said, it’s time to take a look at who currently are the strongest and most reliable characters in the game that are well worth taking for a spin.

Jogo sending flies at an enemy

6Jogo

Jogo’s Long-Range Lava Attacks And Powerful Domain Expansion Make Him An Amazing Zoner

Jogo as a fighter is somewhat of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, he’s incredibly slow and will often float in the air for a few seconds before landing, which can make him an easy target, but he also has some of the most lethal projectiles in the entire game, and when activatinghis Domain Expansion, it allows each one of his attacks to deal a ton more damage.

He’s also just a very strategic character who’s able to place certain traps and barriers around the stage to make things a little more difficult for the enemy, and it can lead to some pretty frightening combos if he can play his cards right. The sluggish movement and awkward jumping can make Jogo a bit annoying to use at times, but he more than makes up for it with his devastating lava attacks and deadly Domain Expansion.

Itadori kicking Nobara with black energy

5Yuji Itadori

Itadori’s Lightning-Fast Movements And Attacks Allow Him To Barrage His Opponent With Constant Pressure

The young and plucky protagonist of the series himself, Yuji Itadori has quite a few tricks up his sleeve that can help give him an edge in battle. For one, he has excellent movement, being able to evade attacks and projectiles with ease, but he’s even able to slow down the opponent by kicking rocks at them, which can easily open them up for a combo or two.

His hard-hitting attacks, such as the devastating Black Flash, which can send the opponent flying across the stage, also make him a great character for follow-up combos, and someone who’s excellent at dealing constant pressure to force the enemy into making a mistake. He’s without a doubtthe most beginner-friendly characteron the roster, and although his kit isn’t too complex, his quick movements and powerful follow-up attacks still make him a real force to be reckoned with.

Toge after using his ultimate attack

4Toge Inumaki

It’s So Hard To Close The Gap On Toge Because Of His Devastating Counters And Mid-Range Combos

Toge is a mix-up character through and through who excels at keeping the opponent guessing while countering and evading every one of their attacksbefore pulling off his flashy combos. Because his combos can reach from close to medium range, it means that the opponent can easily get caught up in Toge’s whirlwind of attacks, making it extremely hard for them to get anywhere near him. This also makes him great for follow-ups, since the range of his combos makes it easy to juggle an opponent before sending them back flying into the ground.

By far his best ability isCursed Speech, which essentially works as a counter. If the opponent attacks Toge when this is activated, they will be stunned for a few seconds, allowing Toge to set them up for an air-combo, or just take them out with his Ultimate Attack. Toge is a character who is certainly not to be taken lightly, and although his skill ceiling is quite high, he is still one of the hardest fighters to predict on the battlefield, and that makes him extremely dangerous.

Eso and Kechu preparing to punch

3Eso & Kechizu

Kechizu Gladly Joins In On His Brother’s Attacks Which Can Ramp Up The Damage To An Absurd Amount

While Eso already would have been a fearsome combatant if it was just him fighting, developer Byking decided to also include his brother, Kechizu, who is more than willing to help his older sibling out in combat. Any time the opponent gets near Eso, Kechizu will immediately start violently slashing at the opponent to keep them at bay. While this can occur when Eso is standing back, Kechizu can even jump in on the action during a combo to ramp up the total damage, and if used correctly, can even prolong a combo by keeping the opponent in the air for a little longer.

Eso is even able to inflict debuffs on the enemy, which can quickly turn a fight around, especially when using Kechizu’s blood to make the opponent more vulnerable to all kinds of damage, forcing them to defend their life. Alongside this, he also has poison attacks which can come in handy when an enemy fighter is getting a little too close for comfort. Kechizu can sometimes be a little unpredictable in the way he acts, which means that he’s not always reliable, but the fact that he’s even around at all still makes Eso so much more dangerous as a result.

Gojo

2Satoru Gojo

Gojo’s Constant Teleporting And Plethora Of Projectiles Make Him An Absolute Nightmare To Deal With

Considering how powerful Gojo is in the show, it only makes sense that he would be just as strong in this game, but he can become an absolute monster when used by someone who knows how to make full use of his abilities. His Ball Vortex attack, which he can control for a short period, is a great projectile for keeping distance, but if he wants to throw out something a little faster but just as powerful, he can also summon his Purple Hollow, which can barrel through the opponent like an oversized bowling ball.

Because most of his combos involve Gojo teleporting around the enemy to attack them, it also makes him incredibly hard to predict, and even allows the player controlling him to use an ability between these movements to dial up the damage even more. This isn’t even mentioning his Domain Expansion, which is capable of annihilating enemy health bars if he manages to pull it off without a hitch. He’s a very hard character to learn, but in the right hands, Gojo can be more or less unstoppable once he gets going.

Megumi and his wolf

1Megumi Fushiguro

Megumi’s Shikigami Companions Allow Him To Excel At Close, Medium, And Long Range

Megumi can call on several ofhis Shikigami companionsduring a battle, which can be a nightmare for the opponent to deal with, especially his toad, who can initiate a grab from long range that can only be avoided by dodging out of the way. That’s not all though, as Megumi is also able to freely throw his hawk out to dish out some damage while he hangs back, allowing him to poke the enemy without even needing to put himself at risk.

At close range, Megumi’s dog will help him out with juggle combos, and it can melt the enemy’s health bar with little more than a few slashes and swipes when used in quick succession. Megumi is an immensely strong character whose abilities allow him to be effective at both close and long range, and while it can be tricky learning him, it’s well worth it in the end when he’s able to take down opponents without even breaking a sweat.
