Summary

Destiny 2continues to be one of the best looter shooter games available, even as it makes its way through its sixth year. As gaming trends evolve, developer Bungie does what it can to stay on top of the competition by ensuring its players are given the best experience possible, and that includes keepingDestiny 2’s weapons in line with the game’s regularly updated mechanics.

With Bungie now making a habit ofreprising old weapons inDestiny 2, there are still several beloved weapons that have yet to receive a reprisal, most of which the player base at large would love to see make a return. Among these are weapons from the Black Armory and Season of Dawn eras, as well as a pulse rifle from the game’s first year.

The Hammerhead machine gun is among the most-requested weapons for reprisal, althoughDestiny 2players simply want all Black Armory weapons to return. Originally introduced during the game’s fifth season, Season of the Forge, the Hammerhead is still recognized as one of the best legendary machine gunsDestiny 2has ever seen. It goes without saying that it is long overdue for a reprisal, but players may be at a loss here unless Bungie also chooses to simultaneously reprise all Black Armory weapons in the process.

Season of the Forge’s Blast Furnace is anotherBlack Armory weaponthat rapidly became a hit among theDestiny 2population in 2018. At the time, it was deemed by many “the best pulse rifle ever,” although it primarily served its purpose in PvP, more so than in PvE. The Blast Furnace is an Aggressive Frame pulse rifle, meaning it can fire up to 450 rounds per minute, and its base range was higher than most pulse rifles of its time. This beloved pulse rifle is beyond due for a reprisal, although a new perk pool might accompany it.

Season of Dawn (S9)

To this day, most longtimeDestiny 2players agree that there has never been a sidearm in the game comparable toSeason of Dawn’s Breachlight. When it was released, players were surprised at the fact that a sidearm had somehow become the new meta, as many of the sidearms up to that point were far from the meta, merely being used as an optional weapon when their other weapons were unavailable. Due to its immense popularity and success, theDestiny 2community is still calling for Breachlight’s return in one way or another, so a reprisal of the beloved weapon would undoubtedly be welcomed with open arms.

Season of the Outlaw (S4)

The Bygones pulse rifle fromDestiny 2’s Season of the Outlaw is another pulse rifle that quickly took over the meta and remained there for a significant amount of time. Players found that the Bygones was simply unbeatable at the time, and many were found using thepulse rifle during Crucible matchesduring its heyday. Today, a reprisal of the famous weapon would certainly be welcomed by theDestiny 2community.

Several other weapons have yet to be reprised inDestiny 2, but the aforementioned weapons are some of the best in the game’s history. In light of that, players are hoping to see these weapons return at some point, even if they are in a different state than they were to begin with. For now, at least, players can expect Bungie to continue updating old weapons asDestiny 2progresses.
