Having proper etiquette in online multiplayer games is essential for garnering respect from other players, but apparently, no one told theBattlefield 2042bots that. The A.I.-controlled bots for the game’s Beta have been shooting the dead bodies of downed players in one of the ultimate signs of online shooter disrespect.

TheBattlefield 2042Beta is in something of a buggy state, with many reporting numerous issues with the upcoming shooter, but alongside the visual glitches and the slew of prerelease bugs, however, some of the game’s bots are being seen as downright disrespectful. There are quite a few clips circling the internet rounds showing that the bots keep shooting the dead bodies of players for several seconds even after they’ve been killed.

This is seen as something ofan aggressive move among multiplayer communitiesbecause it’s an unnecessary show of excessive force that does nothing other than rub the death in the defeated player’s face. It seems unlikely that the bots are programmed this way on purpose and that this is occurring as just another one of the many programming issues players have been experiencing in the beta, but it certainly doesn’t makeBattlefield 2042feel like a very welcoming place to newcomers or casual shooter fans.

It’ll be curious to see if DICE ends up changing the bots' behavior in the final release of the game. It seems like many players who have gotten into the Beta have been reportingnumerous other major issues withBattlefield 2042, so disrespectful bot behavior might not be a top priority when it comes to getting the game ready for its launch.

Unfortunately,Battlefieldgames launching in a messy statehas become pretty commonplace. With each release, bug compilations get uploaded to YouTube and many players participate in trying to break the game to see just how far they can take the glitches. Usually, they get ironed out in the months following each game’s launch, but it’s oftentimes a little too late. It’s still to be seen what stateBattlefield 2042will release in, but fans don’t have to wait long as it launches later this year.

Battlefield 2042was recently delayed from October into Novemberwith DICE citing that it wants to release the most polished version of the game possible, but, based on the state of the Beta, it seems like the studio has its work cut out for it.

Battlefield 2042releases on November 19 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
