The Batman’s theatrical release has left a wide impression on the Batman mythology with its distinct interpretations of characters. The Batman’s grisly detective-noir aesthetic and moody ambience has defined it uniquely from previous films, and has also prompted fans to wonderhow these mechanics could translate toBatmangames.

The Batmanhas since drawn many comparable nods to the belovedBatman: Arkhamfranchise due to its rhythmic crowd-control brawls and investigative detective work. Further, there have beenmods that add Robert Pattinson’s Batman toSifu. However, there is one sequence fromThe Batmanthat cannot be recreated inSifu, nor can it be achieved in any of the first threeBatman: Arkhaminstallments, due to one important gameplay feature:Batman: Arkham Knight’s Batmobile.

YouTuber Batman Arkham Videos has recently sharedan edit ofBatman: Arkham Knightthat closely recreates the iconic Batmobile chase fromThe Batman. With cinematic edits and cuts, Batman Arkham Videos replicates this scene with close-up shots of Batman in the Batmobile as he swerves and pursues a militia van. Batman strikes the van with a missile and topples it before he walks toward Penguin’s crashed vehicle with the same upside-down shots and orchestral theme fromThe Batman.

The Batman’s Batmobile chase sequence sees Batman pursue the Penguin through busy Gotham City streets in the rain. Penguin causes an accident that results in a large traffic fire explosion that he believes has stopped Batman, but Batman appears with the Batmobile leaping through the flames and then rams into Penguin. Batman then exits the Batmobile and slowly walks toward Penguin’s crashed, upside-down vehicle to apprehend him. WhileThe Batman’s Batmobile is much different fromBatman: Arkham Knight’s, their functions and mechanics are still comparable.

The edit perfectly captures the aesthetic and atmosphere ofThe Batmanwhile it uses many gameplay tricks fromBatman Arkham Knightto achieve it. Whether fans liked it or disliked it,Batman: Arkham Knight’s Batmobilewas one of its most substantial gameplay features. Used prominently in automated militia drone battles as well as the Riddler’s obstacle races and city-wide trophy puzzles, the Batmobile offered a fresh feature to the franchise that differed from the traditional cape-glides or grapnel-boosts that players were accustomed to at that point.

It is likely thatThe Batman’s influence will be seen in media for a while as it has truly impacted fans and players, particularly those that hope to see the Caped Crusader as a playable character again in the future. Until then, DC’s currently announced lineup of games includesGotham KnightsandSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which put other hero and villain characters in the forefront for a change.

Batman: Arkham Knightis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
