WithBaldur’s Gate 3enjoying such immense critical acclaim on PC and PS5, it’s understandable that some Xbox fans may be anxious to play the beloved RPG on their platform of choice. A recent leak suggested that theBaldur’s Gate 3Xbox release date would be December 6. Larian pushed back against those claims, but still has yet to provide an update on when exactly fans can play the Xbox version beyond that it will be available before 2023 is out. In a tweet celebrating its multiple Game Awards 2023 nominations, Larian teased that Xbox fans should keep an eye on its Twitter account for a release date announcement this week. So while fans still don’t know the exact day that they will learn of theBaldur’s Gate 3Xbox release date, they should know within the next few days.

WheneverBaldur’s Gate 3does arrive on Xbox, there will be a key difference between the version of the game playable on Xbox Series X and the one playable on Xbox Series S. Unfortunately,Baldur’s Gate 3will not have split-screen on Xbox Series Sat launch, though it’s possible it will be added in a future update. Anyone wanting to playBaldur’s Gate 3co-op locally will have to make sure that they play through the game on Xbox Series X.

Otherwise, fans can expect the Xbox version ofBaldur’s Gate 3to offer the same level of quality found in the PC and PS5 versions. Those that have already played the game on other platforms but want to switch to Xbox should note thatBaldur’s Gate 3does have cross-save functionality, though it is currently lacking crossplay at the time of this writing.
