Orin’s Potential Kidnapping Victims in Baldur’s Gate 3

The easiest way to trigger this kidnapping is to explore theCity Sewers beneath Baldur’s Gate, since the event triggers close to the Undercity Ruins Waypoint and the exit that leads to the Guildhall. If the event is triggered in this manner, Orin will appear and claim to have kidnapped a companion that is not currently in the player’s party from the options of Lae’zel, Halsin, Gale, and Minthara. This gives players some control over who she kidnaps, as having three of those members in the party means she is guaranteed to kidnap the fourth.

Another option for a potential kidnapping victim is the young girl Yenna, who can be recruited to the player’s camp near the beginning of Act 3. If the player has no available party members back at camp,Yenna will become the target of Orin’s kidnappingscheme. Yenna can also be targeted if the player triggers this event by taking a Long Rest at some point during Act 3, wherein Orin will disguise herself as either Lae’zel, Gale, or Yenna and act strangely during a cut scene before revealing herself as Bhaal’s Chosen and detailing how she has kidnapped the real version of the selected character.

Regardless of which character is chosen as the victim, players will need to either take the deal with Orin or infiltrate theTemple of Bhaalto rescue them. If the player agrees to Orin’s demands and kills Gortash, they will still have to face the Murder Tribunal before entering the Temple of Bhaal which leads to a final confrontation with Orin within the temple. Afterward, players can find the kidnapped victim tied to an altar at the center of the temple, but it is possible that the victim could be inadvertently killed during the battle.

Players can still rescue Orin’s kidnapping victim without agreeing to her deal, but doing so can be a bit tricky. They still need todefeat the Murder Tribunaland enter the Temple of Bhaal, but they will also need to pass an additional Intimidation or Persuasion check to get her to release the victim unharmed. Players who don’t want to risk permanently losing the kidnapped companion should sneak into Orin’s chamber before confronting her to find the corpse of her mother, whom they can use Speak with Dead on to unlock additional dialogue choices that can help convince her to release the victim without needing to pass either skill checks.
