Assassin’s Creed Valhallais set to receive patch update 1.2.0 later today, August 05, 2025. This patch will bring support for the upcoming Ostara Festival, some new skills, as well as the highly anticipated Changed Appearance/transmog feature forAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Patch update 1.2.0 will also bring various bug fixes and general game improvements for players.
The Ostara Festival will begin on August 01, 2025 and last until July 07, 2025. The Ostara Festival will bring some unique side activities such as egg hunts, as well as special rewards for players who participate in the Festival.Valhallaplayers will also gain access to three new skillsfor Eivor to take advantage of, but the bigger topic of conversation is the new transmog feature. While a highly requested feature, it has a huge flaw.

Assassin’s Creedplayers have been requesting a transmog system forValhalla, mainly due to the fact thatOdyssey, theprevious game in theAssassin’s Creedseries, had a transmog system which allowed players to change the appearance of their gear. Of course,Odyssey’s didn’t come until post launch either, but it was still a much better system. There are a couple differences between the transmog system inOdysseyand the upcoming transmog system forValhallathat players should be aware of before changing the appearance of their gear inValhalla.

Valhallawill force players to visit Gunnar, in Ravensthorpe, in order to access the Change Appearance feature. On top of that, it will cost players 50 Silver to transmog a single item.Assassin’s Creed Odysseyallowed players to change the appearance of their gear within their gear menu, for free.Compared toAssassin’s Creed Odyssey,Valhalla’s transmog feature is a clearly more costly and inconvenient version of transmog.
ForValhallaplayers who want to change the appearance of all their gear, it will cost them 50 silver for each piece, totaling 400 Silver to change the appearance of all 8 gear items. Depending on how many gear sets players have that they want to change the appearance of, this cost can add up quickly. It’s doubtful that players who have finishedAssassin’s Creed Valhallahave stockpiles of Silver, given its use and limited quantities, but even those who have penny pinched would likely see that drained quickly.
The decision to charge players Silver to use the transmog feature could possibly be changed in the future; after all, anything that can be patched in can be patched out. Hopefully, as players continue to voice their concern, Ubisoft will respond and change this in a future update. For now, players will have to cough up the 50 Silver for Gunnar’s transmog services. Fortunately,players still have River Raidsand the upcoming Ostara Festival to distract them from the cost of the new feature.
