There are reportedly multipleAssassin’s Creedprojects in development, as Ubisoft is betting even bigger than before on the franchise, but at least some rumored settings are tied toAssassin’s Creed Infinity. This title is said to be a hub world, a live-service title where players will explore multiple settings. It’s hard to really understand how this all shakes out yet, but one interesting project tied to infinity is codenamedRed.
Assassin’s Creed Redis reportedly part ofInfinityand set somewhere in Asia. The exact location has yet to be confirmed, although reports do suggest that Japan is possible. However, given the wide berth that is Asia, there are plenty of locations that would make for great settings inRed.

Assassin’s Creed Red: Japan
Japan is the likeliest setting, per initial reports aboutAssassin’s Creed Red.This would be the most obvious winner, given how fans have demanded it for years and how Ubisoft has even teased it itself, as far back asAssassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. It seems that, despite these teases,Ubisoft has avoided Japanfor some reason. Given how the live-service nature ofInfinity/Redcould be controversial, choosing one of its most demanded would be a smart move. On top of that, it would closely connect to the code name with the crimson-red circle of the Flag of Japan.
Assassin’s Creed Red: India
India would be another good choice. Although Ubisoft has technically taken the franchise to India before, that was in a spin-off game, and yet India has always had an important role with the Brotherhood.Assassin’s Creed Syndicateexplores, somewhat, the story of Sir Henry Green, an Indian-born member of the Assassins. He eventually marriesEvie Frye, and it’s clear their family has an important role throughout the brotherhood’s history. A more modern story could perhaps explore their grandchildren, or since the spin-off explores Green’s father, his ancestors could also be explored. Either way, the entire region is ripe for a main game.
Assassin’s Creed Red: Persia
Like India,Assassin’s Creedhas flirted with Persia(modern-day Iran) a few times, with the most prominent being Darius inOdyssey’s Legacy of the First Blade DLC. Darius' assassination of Xerxes I was the first recorded use of the Hidden Blade, and he and his comrades created an organization that opposed Xerxes' plans. This was not the Hidden Ones, but another of the many predecessors of the Assassins. Exploring this chapter of the history of the Assassins would be unique, given its end was lightly addressed, compared to everything seen so far. At the same time, if it moved away from Darius' organization as a result, it would be interesting to see how the region unfolded thereafter.
Assassin’s Creed Red: The Philippines
Of course, there’s also the case to explore locations that Ubisoft hasn’t teased as heavily, although just about every location in the world has a canon Brotherhood. The Philippines is one such location, one with a ton of lore yet not as much concrete content. The franchise has explored the Brotherhood in a number of ways, from its origins to variousconflicts with the Templarsand, in some cases, even its cooperation with the Templars. However, internal conflict is not often as forward as it would seem. The Philippines would be a great way to do so, as its history sees it shuffle through several brotherhoods, changing heads and motifs, alongside the history of the region. The conflicts of the Luzon Brotherhood (900-1589), its subgroups, the Visayan Brotherhood (1400-1565, and the Mindanoan Brotherhood (1405-1915 and 1962-1986), its subgroups, and further reorganization would all make for interesting stories.
