Apex Legendsseason 5 Broken Ghost quest ended with some big revelations for Season 6. It appears that not only isAsh, an antagonist fromTitanfall 2, coming to the Apex Games, but the next location for them has been revealed as well: Olympus.

If Olympus sounds familiar to players, it should. This is located on the planet of Psamathe, the home of Lifeline and Octane, and it is incredibly important to Revenant and Loba, having been shown off a little with her introduction intoApex Legends.

Apex Legends: Olympus Lore and More

Olympus is described as a floating city high above the planet, and it connects several legends. Players first glimpse of this was withLoba’s introduction, as this is the planet where Revenant killed her parents and she is shown running around the city. As players put Ash’s head back on and she tells them of Olympus, the names “Darion” and “Duardo” are mentioned. It seems likely they’ll be important to the next quest (perhaps future legends?), but more importantly, Octane and Lifeline both know them and fear them.

It’s here that Revenant’s head is transferred after Loba failed to kill him, and it’s likely Revenant is still looking for his death. Loba seems more conflicted about it now, but it seems the IMC, Hammond Robotics, and more companies may be more involved with thisnewApex Legendsmap.

While Ash seemingly confirms this as a season 6 map, it’s also worth adding that map files for it were found in the June 23rd patch by dataminers. In other words,Apex LegendsSeason 6 is likely coming packed with new content, and many may enjoy this map, which seems completely different fromKings Canyonor World’s Edge.

Apex Legends: Olympus, the Season 6 Map

While many will argue thatWorld’s Edgeis more open than Kings Canyon, the simple matter of the fact is that more maps are full of open space, small roughneck areas, and a similar design. Olympus is not that. Whereas the other two are about as rural as possible, Olympus is a full-blown metropolis complete with buildings, apartments, big city vibes, and far more. It’s almost as if Capitol City and Skyhook were combined, doubled, and then made tenfold in comparison to size inApex Legends.

What this means is that the meta will almost certainly change. It’s hard to say for sure what players will see, but Tenmei (the resturant where Revenant kills Loba’s parents) will appear as a bit of lore. Moving from building to building may be a bigger thing, and there’s the question of verticality. The city itself floats in the sky and is built upward, meaning there’s a ton of skyscrapers that players may be able to ascend. The whole map is not likely to be tight quarters, but it seems likely to be much tighter than World’s Edge or Kings Canyon in comparison.

It also makes sense thatAsh seems to have a jetpack passive, and characters like Loba, Octane, and Pathfinder will be able to move around just fine. There’s likely alternative methods of getting around as well, as it would not be a good idea to leave Gibraltar behind. Since there’s no fall damage, it’s possible less mobile characters may have to just drop to the bottom and run. This means fans will see a big shift in the meta, but at the same time, a way to go from building to build seems likely as the Apex Games set up in a city. At the same time, tanks and less mobile classes that do better in closed quarters are likely to shine anew (Caustic and Wattson, for example).

In short, Olympus seems to be bringing a brand new meta. It’s a massive city, after all, and the map will have to reflect that somehow. This is good for mobile characters and characters who do well in tighter quarters, and it’s going to be interesting to see how this affects the weapon meta too. Rumors persist about a new gun, although it is nowhere near confirmed. If it is theVolt (an energy SMG), though, it seems players can expect a significant shift here too. Closer quarters would make the Volt and other SMGs even more viable (not that they aren’t right now), but the verticality could mean big things for sniper rifles as well.

Only time will tellwhatApex Legendsseason 6 has in store, but thus far, it seems the hype train is clearly a-moving.

Apex Legendsis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Steam and Switch Ports are coming later this year.
