July will be a good month for players who like the PvE chaos ofLeft 4 Deadand the Exosuit-powered PvP gameplay ofTitanfall, as it will see the release of Capcom’sExoprimal. This game is a PvPvE with two teams of five players competing in fending off hordes of dinosaurs. The gameplay may seem familiar to the aforementioned zombie survival and Exosuit games, but it has some key features that make it stand out from the rest.
Exoprimalwas announced in March 2022 through a reveal trailer, which showed a dystopian future of Earth with frenzied dinosaurs popping out of the sky and destroying everything in their path. Each Exosuit seems to have a specific class, akin to the classic damage, support, and tank archetypes of other team-based shooter games likeOverwatchandApex Legends. Both the teaser and the open beta, which was conducted from July 26, 2025, to Jun 13, 2025, gave players a glimpse of the game’s core features at launch.

Exoprimal is All About Dino Survival
The game’s flagship mode is called “Dino Survival,” which players got to experience early in theExoprimalopen beta. Each lobby of this game mode will have two teams with five players per group. Each team will go through an identical course and encounter the same horde of enemies to see who can clear each mission faster.Exoprimal’s Dino Survival currently has 11 missions which will be played in different surroundings every match.
SomeDino Survival missionsrequire players to destroy or protect objectives against dinosaurs and rivals, like Vortexer Sabotage, Uplink Control, and VTOL Defense. Dinosaur Cull and Dino Pursuit focus on mowing down hordes of dinosaurs and hunting down specific species. There are also classic payload missions like Key Security and Escort.

Players who love PvP gameplay will thrive on Energy Taker and Omega Charge. Perhaps the most interesting mission is the Neo T. Rex, an immensely powerful mutated dinosaur that both teams work together to take down. During these missions, players will encounter regular Dinosaurs, which have somehow traveled through space-time and have been mutated by their journey, making them more ferocious than ever. Players will also fightExoprimal’s Neosaurs, which have been infused with unstable energy during their trip through time-space, giving them unusual appearances and abilities.
Exoprimal’s Classes and Loadouts
In the world ofExoprimal, player-characters need to wear high-powered Exosuits to be able to go toe-to-toe against their gargantuan enemies. Each suit will fall under three main roles: Assault, Support, and Tank. Assault Exosuits are long to mid-range damage dealers with loadouts and skills that deal with improving their ability to mow down enemies. Tanks, on the other hand, specialize in protecting their team from heavy damage through shields. SomeTank-style Exosuitshave abilities that taunt enemies, making them attack the player instead of their teammates. Meanwhile, Support Exosuits focus on healing and buffing allies, as well as debuffing enemies.
Exoprimaloffers some customization features as well: the crafting feature gives players the ability to create objects on the battlefield that help turn the tides of a fight, like walls, platforms, and turrets. Rigs then augment Exosuits with throwing weapons, lasers, catapults, repair fields, front-facing shields, and charge attacks. That said, players can only equip one rig at a time.
The game also offers cosmetic features for the pilot and the Exosuit. Apart from basic facial features and skin tone customization, players can combine hairstyles and even add face paint to make their pilot look truly unique. Further, players can add decals, weapon skins, and gun buddies to their Exosuits. With a well-sized breadth of gameplay functionality and cosmetic iteration, it will be interesting to see where the team-based game lands with fans onExoprimal’sday-one Xbox Game Pass launch.
Exoprimalwill be released on July 08, 2025, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
