Elden Ringis one of the most feature-complete games ever released. While more and more games are adopting a live-service model that focuses on seasonal content and battle passes,Elden Ringstands on the opposite end of the field, offering hundreds of hours of content for a reasonable price. With a gigantic open-world, some incredibly complex lore, over 100 boss fights, a vast array of enemy types, a ton of dungeons, and more weapons and armor than ever seen before in a FromSoftware game,Elden Ringis more than worth the price of admission.
But FromSoftware isn’t happy just leaving it at that. After a handful of updates and patches, some of which added some new content, FromSoftware announced a fully-fledged DLC expansion coming toElden Ringsometime soon. Though fans know very little about it,Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree is said to be FromSoftware’s most ambitious DLC expansionyet, which is really saying something. And while Shadow of the Erdtree is sure to receive a plethora of new bosses, enemies, weapons, and armors, there’s one small addition that could end up making a huge impact to one specific group of players.

Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Should Add More Trophies
FromSoftware games always have notoriously difficult, but rewarding trophy or achievement lists, andElden Ringis no exception. Ranked at a 7/10 difficulty on PSNProfiles,Elden Ring’s Platinum journeycan take players anywhere from 65 hours to well over 100, all depending on how they go about hunting down those trophies. Thankfully, just one ofElden Ring’s trophies is missable, meaning that for the most part, players can just enjoy their time withElden Ring, and eventually set about grabbing all of the game’s loot when they feel ready to do so.
Naturally, trophy hunting isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, especially not when that journey to Platinum can take north of 100 hours and takes quite a bit of patience and skill. But for those that are into trophy/achievement hunting,Elden Ring’s trophy listis a real hidden treat, encouraging the most dedicated players to see absolutely everything that this huge game has to offer. And while the vast majority of players may not think twice about it, it would mean a lot to these fans ifElden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC brought another lengthy list of trophies to the game.
DLC trophies and achievements are nothing new to the gaming industry, with just about every big AAA DLC expansion adding another handful of digital awards for players to hunt down. Though these trophies are often separated from the main list, and as such don’t offer a Platinum trophy upon completion, that doesn’t usually bother most trophy hunters, with many simply seeing it as a reason to scour every last inch of the game’s map. Shadow of the Erdtree should be no exception, adding trophies based on defeatingthe DLC’s new bosses, exploring any new areas of the map, and finding all of the new weapons and armor the DLC brings to the game.
IfElden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC really wanted to go above and beyond, then it could even add trophies based on all the content FromSoftware has added to the game since launch. Over the last year and a bit, FromSoftware has continued to updateElden Ring, and some of those updates have added some new features such as new NPC questlines andthe PvP Coliseum. It would be great to see Shadow of the Erdtree add a handful of trophies based on these post-launch updates as well, incentivizing old fans to return to the game and check out everything they’ve missed.
Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
